Watch The Killers slay on Sept. 18th!
The Killers Promise Concert Surprise
The Killers have told fans to expect a number of surprises for their upcoming concert directed by Werner Herzog for the 'American Express Unstaged' music series.
The Killers have promised a host of surprises for their upcoming concert directed by Werner Herzog.
The group are collaborating with the legendary director for a September 18 show for the 'American Express Unstaged' music series, which will coincide with the launch of their latest album 'Battle Born', and bassist Mark Stoermer says they are ruling nothing out.
He told Rollingstone.com: ''[Werner] has ideas for someone crowd-surfing with a camera on. I think there's gonna be an animal involved. I'm sure it will be all done the right way.''
The show will be live streamed from the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York at www.youtube.com/TheKillersVEVO and www.amexunstaged.com and frontman Brandon Flowers revealed the group were ''honoured'' to work with Werner.
He said: ''We're so honoured to work with Werner Herzog. He's made some legendary films and we can't believe we got him to do this.''
This will be the 11th performance within the innovative live stream music series and sees The Killers follow in the footsteps of performers including Usher, Jack White and Mary J. Blige.
Last October, Coldplay kicked off their European tour by streaming a concert live from the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, directed by Anton Corbijn and watched by millions around the world.
The Dutch film director unleashed a host of artistic Extras on the crowd throughout the show including a shower of paper butterflies during 'Hurts Like Heaven', confetti during 'In My Place' and balloons unleashed while the band played 'Lost'.

Basically, I know where I'll be on Sept. 18th at 7 p.m. ET. For those that have heard Battle Born, what do you think? I really like it but I'm just happy to have the boys back!

everytime i hear them now tho i think about the one Bill Bailey stand-up where he threw shade at them for the "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" line and i just crack up
It's completely forgettable.
Give up imo.

so far i've only listened to battle born once through and while i'm liking it, it hasn't totally grown on me. there are a few tracks that i thoroughly enjoyed on first listen, but not sure how i feel about the album as a whole yet.
it's interesting to see how their sound has evolved since hot fuss though, that's for sure.
And yeah, there are some great songs and some meh songs like always. My favorite is still Hot Fuss and the evolution has been interesting! They can never write another Hot Fuss though <3
bring me i'm so fun
i was so nervous that i wasn't going to get tickets tbh. especially since pre-sale allotment had already gone to the fan club members.
kept refreshing and refreshing at 9:59 to make sure i got tix and luckily i was able to.
i'm sure they'll come to LA again in the spring, but i assume they'll play a much bigger venue
And I really hope they don't tour the US until spring because I'm away until December and I will be crushed if I miss the chance to see them!
imo it just sounds sooo similar to Sam's Town and while I find it pleasant I don't love it. idk idk. Maybe they'll fo full circle and their next album will be like Hot Fuss and I can love them again.
I think the new album is amazing and Brandon's voice has improved so much.
my favorite is "the way it was"

But ugh, I just want something to get rid of the taste of Day and Age out of my mouth.
The teaser trailer for Battle Born had me SO excited for Flesh and Bone, and I do like it but I wish it had more of the teaser sound to it. I would kill for another album like Hot Fuss, though. "Mr. Brightside" does so much to me every time I listen to it.
They're still my favorite band <3
first listen through my general take was a meh with some gems but now I love most if not all of them. the dongs definitely grow on you and Brandon's lyrics are just agh to die for <3 the only one I'm still resistant on is Heart of a Girl
tho IMO there won't be a lot of singles coming from this. Flesh and Bone for sure, maybe Miss Atomic Bomb and From Here On Out. but others don't have enough commercial sound for single success
