Cops scared that Amanda Bynes will kill someone

Cops are alarmed by the pics we posted today showing Amanda Bynes behind the wheel and smoking what appears to be pot -- and several patrol officers tell us they're now on alert because they fear her driving habits have turned deadly.

The officers we spoke with -- who don't want to be named -- say the pics explain a lot about Amanda's alleged hit-and-runs. One cop with many years of experience as a patrol officer tells TMZ, "She's on the same road as my wife and kids and I'm scared about getting a call in the middle of the night that my little one is dead."

The cop added, "She's addicted to something and she's driving a deadly weapon and is going to kill someone. It scares the s**t out of me."

Another cop said, "The public should be afraid of her. From looking at the photos, and what she's smoking, she has no sense of reality.  If she's not stopped she's gonna kill someone."

Another said, "She is going down a road that she cannot come back from when she injures or kills someone. The photos don't surprise me at all."

A veteran motor cop says on a scale of 1 to 10 -- 10 being extremely dangerous -- Amanda is easily a 10.

latexana 14th-Sep-2012 02:16 pm (UTC)
wasnt it suspended or something?
pixiesilver 14th-Sep-2012 02:17 pm (UTC)
Yea I think it was
haverchuck_bill 14th-Sep-2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
A lot of good that seems to be doing.
winniechili 14th-Sep-2012 02:43 pm (UTC)
Her license has been suspended so I don't know why she isn't in more trouble for still driving. Maybe she has to be caught in the act by a cop?
__nocturna 14th-Sep-2012 03:04 pm (UTC)
Its amazing what one can get away with when you are rich/famous... How is she not in jail, yet
odeeryme 14th-Sep-2012 08:07 pm (UTC)

I'm sure they have to actually catch her in the act before they can arrest her because of legal issues
antoinettemarie 14th-Sep-2012 11:29 pm (UTC)
What about those speeding tickets and tickets for running red lights from traffic cameras? I presume a lot of crimes they don't have to catch you in the act for, unless they are secondary offenses, like not wearing a seatbelt. In PA, you can't be pulled over for it, but if you are caught speeding and they notice no seatbelt, they issue a fine for it then.
alicel 14th-Sep-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)
seriously, she needs to be off the fucking road. how many cars does she have to hit and drugs does she have to do for anybody to give a shit? oh wait, someone actually has to die.
latexana 14th-Sep-2012 02:14 pm (UTC)
I'm pretty much of the same opinion. she is either gonna hurt someone, badly, or gonna hurt herself.
screwhim 14th-Sep-2012 02:14 pm (UTC)
can you hurt a dead career?
lucciolaa 14th-Sep-2012 02:33 pm (UTC)
There's more to a person than his or her career.
publicfrenemy 14th-Sep-2012 03:38 pm (UTC)
I chuckled.
screwhim 14th-Sep-2012 02:14 pm (UTC)
maybe she lives in her car?
anchors_oceans 14th-Sep-2012 02:34 pm (UTC)
due to the garbage, it actually looks that way.
pixiesilver 14th-Sep-2012 02:39 pm (UTC)
She might be
distant_lines 14th-Sep-2012 02:50 pm (UTC)
Surely TMZ would have caught onto that if true.
__nocturna 14th-Sep-2012 03:05 pm (UTC)
Seriously, it seems all this chick does is drive around all day/night.
drunkagron 14th-Sep-2012 04:53 pm (UTC)
it srsly looks it. she had bags filled with clothes and all kinds of stuff. i'm sure she's hiding what she's doing from her parents because she used to live with them. and she doesn't seem to have any friends :/
sapitacherry 14th-Sep-2012 05:50 pm (UTC)
that is a solid point
stussytribe 14th-Sep-2012 02:18 pm (UTC)
it's so weird, this is amanda bynes ;-\, like amanddaa manda manda manda, the girl who ruined all the pre-jamie-lynn. 10 yr old me is not happy about this
pinkfunraven 14th-Sep-2012 02:18 pm (UTC)
Then why the fuck aren't they taking away her license??
drwolfenstein 14th-Sep-2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
they did!
sixseventytwo 14th-Sep-2012 04:46 pm (UTC)
Yep and she doesn't give a shit. Her life seems sad, actually.
youngmendead 14th-Sep-2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
i hate seeing police bitch about how terrible shit is when all they do is waste millions of dollars on pot busting when real crimes are being committed and ruining peoples lives. women's rights are being stripped away and people are worried about a plant you can grow in your own garden, it's disgusting
lucciolaa 14th-Sep-2012 02:32 pm (UTC)
The war on drugs is the biggest waste of time, money, and resources ever. It's actually ridiculous.

Don't bitch about the police, then, bitch about the laws. Police are required to enforce laws. If you have a problem with a law, target legislators who make the laws. If enough voices are heard, maybe eventually change will happen.

To be fair, a lot of big cities have turned away from prosecuting misdemeanor drug charges. The prosecution rates have gone down in a lot of cities.
sweet_honesty 14th-Sep-2012 06:03 pm (UTC)
FYI, the departments that deal with vehicular crimes and the departments that deal with drugs are two different departments. Often the departments that deal with vehicular crimes are short on money. If you want that to change, talk to your legislators. Blaming the police is just lazy.
paula3000 14th-Sep-2012 11:01 pm (UTC)
So, are you saying it's okay to get high and drive? Just wondering.
pooq45 15th-Sep-2012 12:09 am (UTC)
I think you missed the part about her being driving under the influence.
lambjunkie 14th-Sep-2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
well maybe she should have been arrested already since if she was a "regular person" she would have been. stop treating celebs like they are above the law ffs!!!
jmfunnyface 14th-Sep-2012 02:57 pm (UTC)
It's not just celebrities though. My first job out of college was for a criminal defense law firm. We had a client that had six DUIs in two years--not to mention a license that was suspended for like a million years, and yet he was not in jail. It was disgusting.
cutiepie0304 14th-Sep-2012 03:33 pm (UTC)
Ugh, that's ridiculous!
lambjunkie 14th-Sep-2012 03:39 pm (UTC)
fucking horrible! :(
vonlisbon 14th-Sep-2012 08:31 pm (UTC)
It is weird, the enormous variable of punishments for something that seems as straightforward as a DWI. Sure, you can say that the majority of people face xyz punishment, but there are so many bizarre-ass cases out there. One friend-ish of mine managed to plead out of four DWIs before he finally got nailed on his fifth, while an uncle's brother killed someone drunk driving with a suspended license and served four years in jail. It's just so crazy.
juel1979 14th-Sep-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
I know someone, regular person, who got away with driving on a suspended license AND putting a hand-written "Farm Use" tag on a car (not a truck or vehicle that could haul, just a car) and driving it on a long commute to and from work. I mean, honestly. How do some people get away with that crap.
violue 14th-Sep-2012 02:20 pm (UTC)
I hate her more with every new post, and that makes me sad
deearem 14th-Sep-2012 02:22 pm (UTC)
When did this even happen?? She used to be so under the radar and now she's just fucking up all over the place. It's so sad because she seemed like the type of starlet where this would never happen. :(
emofordino 14th-Sep-2012 03:40 pm (UTC)
ever since her first or second hit and run, I imagine the paps have been keeping an eye on her just because all this shit gets tons of attention.
ilouboutin 14th-Sep-2012 02:24 pm (UTC)
sooo, they can release statements about her and view photos of her breaking the law yet nothing is being done? her license is suspended so she isn't supposed to be driving. why is she not being arrested right now? i'm confused.
angelofdeath275 14th-Sep-2012 02:40 pm (UTC)
that is so strange to me. like whats the point of having your license suspended then...
life_after_luv 14th-Sep-2012 02:43 pm (UTC)
My friend was caught driving on a suspended license and was sent to jail for three days. The judge said if he was caught again, it would be 30 days. Our judges are kinda ruthless and stick to their word here in Alabama.
starchain 14th-Sep-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
I really shouldn't but I find all those statements hilarious.
pilotparties21 14th-Sep-2012 02:29 pm (UTC)
if they rly cared that much, they'd know that her license was suspended when they pulled her over tbh

lucciolaa 14th-Sep-2012 02:29 pm (UTC)
It's typical to say she's only dangerous because she's a pot smoker, but it's not a far stretch. She's a reckless and irresponsible driver and if she keeps it up, it's a very real possibility.
ilikeandrewbird 14th-Sep-2012 02:32 pm (UTC)
I dont think anyone is even saying that?

i would imagine the problem is that she continuously hits things and looks high out of her mind.
lucciolaa 14th-Sep-2012 02:35 pm (UTC)
"She's addicted to something and she's driving a deadly weapon..."

"From looking at the photos, and what she's smoking, she has no sense of reality."
winniechili 14th-Sep-2012 02:45 pm (UTC)
She's probably a reckless and irresponsible driver because she's always high behind the wheel. I don't get your point?

Driving under the influence of ANYTHING is terrible. People who say pot makes them a better driver are stupid.

ani_di_franco 14th-Sep-2012 02:29 pm (UTC)
I find it hard to believe the cops are concerned about her. If they were that concerned they could follow her until she fucks up enough to pull her over.
sweet_honesty 14th-Sep-2012 06:05 pm (UTC)
They could but they also have better things to do with their time. People think the police have endless supply of officers and money, and its just not true.
