It's been so long since we've heard any news about the movie adaptation of the post-apocalyptic comic Y: The Last Man, we'd assumed it was dead. But now, Vulture is reporting from sources inside New Line Cinema the the studio is quite pleased with the latest draft from Jericho writers Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia.
According to Vulture, the graphic novel movie adaptation was originally supposed to go to director DJ Caruso, but he's long since abandoned all hope on this movie and the door is open for someone new. Rumor has it New Line Cinema is ready to find a new person for the project and are currently meeting with candidates (send us your pitch reels now!).
The graphic novel was penned by Brian K. Vaughn, and takes place after a plague simultaneously kills every living mammal possessing a Y chromosome on the planet. The only two survivors are Yorick Brown and his male pet monkey. Fingers crossed they get this one right — the book is amazing.

Love the comic, but this would make a better TV series, IMO . . .
That 'Y: The Last Man' movie is not dead yet

I'm not a big fan of BKV, I felt like he's pretty overrated like Bendis. I hated his change up on Ultimate X-men. Bendis set up something kinda cool by the end of his New Mutants arc then BKV fucked that to shit.
Although I did love his Magnetic North arc in Ultimate X-men.
I would rather see Y:TLM as a television show or at least mini-series than a movie.
Bullet successfully dodged! lol
Plus Alicia Keys was rumored to play Agent 355.
Plus this is too ~mainstream~ for Shia now. It's not a nude music video or an LSD trip.
That's pretty CSB, but is Ex Machina any good? The plotline doesn't sound like something I'd like but DAMN it's BKV. =/
But I would watch a movie. Zachary Levi for Yorick, Naomie Harris or Tracie Thoms as 355, etc etc.
But Levi is getting old, it saddens me. He was so perfect for the role back when Chuck only had two seasons. xD
i dont want to see this perfection get fucked by wrong actor/actress choices or shitty try hard portrayals
