Earlier today I was looking at how much a Mac computer costs because everyone on campus seems to own one and wtf do they all cost a thousand and something dollars? Am I missing the baseline model or are they all at least a thousand? Because that seems really pricy to me. My computer only costed 400 or 500. Idg where these college students are getting all that money.

yeah my MBP was like $2100 after upgraded specs (4 years ago) iirc.

I was in school for graphic design, so it was compulsory to get one and I budgeted for it and stuff. Plus as an art/design student you don't really spend a lot of money on textbooks and shit, it goes to your laptop and software.

Yes they are ridiculously expensive. I always enjoy seeing my students who have several tricked out (new) Apple products (and not just some old iPod, don't jump on my back ontd'ers) get pissy about shelling out money for books for my class.
