Avengers Sequel: Gwyneth Paltrow May Not Come Back

avengers_0425

Gwyneth Paltrow may be hanging up her Pepper Potts hot pants.

The Oscar winner reveals she may not be back for the Avengers sequel.

"I don't know," she exclusively told E! News at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of her sex addiction dramedy, Thanks For Sharing. "I'm getting old for this s--t, you know what I mean?"

Paltrow originated the role in the first Iron Man movie. She played her again in Iron Man 2 and the recently wrapped third installment of the franchise.

While the 39-year-old mom of two may feel too old for the superhero sequel, she certainly isn't showing it.

In Thanks For Sharing, Paltrow plays a woman dating a sex addict (Mark Ruffalo). In one scene, she shows off her incredible body while giving Ruffalo a lap dance in some incredibly sexy black lingerie. At the premiere, she stunned in a black Tom Ford dress.

Rounding out the cast are Tim Robbins as Ruffalo's 12-step program sponsor and Pink and the hilarious Josh Gad as fellow addicts.

"They called me up and they sent me the script and I read it and it was really really good," Paltrow said of the indie.

She signed on after meeting first-time director Stuart Blumberg. "And it was just like a couple of weeks in New York in the fall and I could bring my kids," Paltrow said. "I was like, 'OK, let's do it.'"

Not like she didn't bring the kids to the Avengers and Iron Man sets.

Paltrow laughed, "They like it better when I do that than sex addiction movies."

And speaking of Avengers, it was Hulk mash-up at the Sharing premiere when Ruffalo stopped to chat with the movie's executive producer and former green superhero, Edward Norton.

There's obviously no hard feelings between the two. Ruffalo even told us he considers Norton his "hero."

for about 3 minutes
wonderwomanhero 13th-Sep-2012 01:20 pm (UTC)
She was in the beginning with Tony and Coulson. It's when we learn Coulson has (had cuz divorce) a wife. Then she was randomly in some jet with some other people watching the destruction of New York and putting on her most cheesy worried face.
pervert_bitch 13th-Sep-2012 01:35 pm (UTC)
What? I though the cellist was a SO, not a divorced wife?
Pepper also appears at the end whe Tony is checking his plans to repair his building.
xpirate_queenx 13th-Sep-2012 02:38 pm (UTC)
I don't think she was ever explicitly identified as his wife; just a flame.
starchain 13th-Sep-2012 01:47 pm (UTC)
she was in the beginning and in a plane, you didn't miss much
letitrainblue 13th-Sep-2012 01:06 pm (UTC)

getting too old for 3 minute talking cameos??? you act like you're on the streets fighting the big bads, silly. get over yourself.
wonderwomanhero 13th-Sep-2012 01:19 pm (UTC)
Don't you understand?! She would rather die then let her kids eat Cup-A-Soup!
sarahvma 13th-Sep-2012 02:59 pm (UTC)
Processed cheese is worth than meth and heroine!
amber_protocol 14th-Sep-2012 12:48 am (UTC)
That's what I'm baffled over. Too old to... walk around barefoot on a building set and sitting down looking worried in a plane set? I thought she was supposed to be superfit or something.
ladywilde80 13th-Sep-2012 01:13 pm (UTC)
I love Pepper but I can't stand Gwyneth. IDGI
letitrainblue 13th-Sep-2012 01:15 pm (UTC)
you are not the only one who has these feelings
wonderwomanhero 13th-Sep-2012 01:19 pm (UTC)
Yes I agree.
la_petite_singe 13th-Sep-2012 01:20 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I think a lot of us are there. :P
xpirate_queenx 13th-Sep-2012 02:40 pm (UTC)
Pretty much.

I can't stand Paltrow normally, and only tolerate her here because, well, it's Marvel and I can distract myself.
notoriousreign 13th-Sep-2012 02:48 pm (UTC)
Mte.
winegums 13th-Sep-2012 05:21 pm (UTC)

though I adore 90s Gwyneth. She had flawless style (apart from that awful pink Oscar dress)

chaquitalicia04 13th-Sep-2012 07:27 pm (UTC)
Same. I like her in Ironman, but I don't really need her in TA.
winonaforever 13th-Sep-2012 01:13 pm (UTC)
"And it was just like a couple of weeks in New York in the fall and I could bring my kids," Paltrow

I'm pretty sure this is the answer to a BI.
door 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
Which one?
winonaforever 13th-Sep-2012 01:27 pm (UTC)
The one about an actress who took her kids on set when she was filming a sex scene.

maria1221 13th-Sep-2012 02:43 pm (UTC)
Haha, great gif.

Paltrow will always be one of those "stars" I don't get.....

sarahvma 13th-Sep-2012 03:02 pm (UTC)
Her Godfather is Stephen Spielberg. That's pretty much the whole explanation for her fame.
grapefruitzzz 13th-Sep-2012 01:19 pm (UTC)
OH THAT'S A SHAME.

Is she going to commit full-time to her blogging empire?
wonderwomanhero 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
flawless icon dear :)

underrated film is underrated yet perfect. they made it bad on purpose, they even said so, and critics obviously didnt get it...idk why.

I still don't get where Goop comes from. What does it stand for?
sarahvma 13th-Sep-2012 03:03 pm (UTC)
See, I skipped it because of bad reviews, but I had fully expected it to be so-bad-it's-good. Now I'll have to check it out.
_______awshucks 13th-Sep-2012 01:20 pm (UTC)
she needs to devote her time to making $500 breakfast trays
wonderwomanhero 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
and the $250 Paper Bags
door 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
Well I've definitely outgrown her whitebread shit, so it all works out.
verschreibsel 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
OH COME ON BE COOL FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE

I love every role I've seen her in but I can't stand her personality.
But I love Pepper. I can't imagine anyone else playing Pepper or Tony without her :( I was hoping for a Rescue plotline!
spankmypirate 13th-Sep-2012 01:23 pm (UTC)
Gwyneth is like that for me. I've enjoyed a lot of her work (Royal Tenenbaums, Iron Man, Emma, Sylvia) but her personal life makes me scratch my head on a consistent basis.
verschreibsel 13th-Sep-2012 01:26 pm (UTC)
Same her. Love her in Iron Man, Emma, even liked her Glee character (when I still watched it), Shakespeare in Love, View from the top.
I can't stand her pretentiousness irl
sessile29 13th-Sep-2012 01:44 pm (UTC)
mte

i've enjoyed what goop has done since like shakespeare in love, but ontd is where i found out how she's like irl

but she's always been a decent, entertaining actress. and pepper is love <33333

winegums 13th-Sep-2012 05:23 pm (UTC)
I like her in a lot of her movies, but nty to her offscreen personality.
chantonii 13th-Sep-2012 01:22 pm (UTC)
