Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds surprised us all by tying the knot in South Carolina yesterday, after dating for just a year.

And it seems Blake's Gossip Girl co-star and ex-boyfriend Penn Badgely was also taken aback by the news - but that doesn't mean he's not happy about it.

Penn - who is currently promoting his new film in Toronto - told People: "I actually didn't know until last night, but I think it's fantastic.

"I couldn't be happier for her."

Penn and Blake - who play on-screen couple Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey - started dating while filming hit show Gossip Girl, but split in 2010.

Since then, Blake was linked with Leonardo DiCaprio among others, before falling for Ryan (well, he is FIT) on the set of The Green Lantern last year.

Penn, meanwhile, is dating Zoe Kravitz, and said of Ryan and Blake's relationship: "I think it's everything that it should be."

Phew, that's one ex down - now let's hear what Ryan's former wife Scarlett Johansson has to say. Please.
