Madonna Shows Off 'Obama' Tattoo Painted On Her Body During Concert

Madonna isn't afraid to show her support for President Barack Obama, nor is she afraid to paint it on her body.

On Thursday night while Obama delivered his nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Madonna was busy performing as part of her "MDNA" tour at Yankee Stadium in New York City.

She clearly had the POTUS on her mind, however, and Madonna decided to show fans just how much she loves Mr. Obama.

"I've seen some scary things. I've seen people being locked up and put in jail for speaking their minds, for being gay, for not practicing the right religion, for not dressing the proper way," Madonna said to the crowd of 40,000, AOL music reported. "Yeah, it's scary. But what it made me realize is how lucky I am to be living here in America. It doesn't mean that this is the perfect country. We have a long way to go."

The singer went on to voice her adoration for First Lady Michelle Obama, according to The Hill, saying, "Thank god for Michelle Obama." Later, that love was aimed at President Obama, "Tonight I'm not going to show my a--. I'm going to show my feelings. How's that for living dangerously?" The 54-year-old then ripped off her shirt to reveal an "OBAMA" tattoo painted across her lower back.

The singer has been supporting Obama since his first run in 2008. She even sold a T-shirt featuring a screen print of Obama's face in multicolors captioned with her hit song, "Express Yourself."

Went to her show when she did this (FLOOR SEATS BITCHES!) and even though her political rants can be eye rolling inducing sometimes, I can't lie - her show was amazing and by far one of the best I've ever seen.
galagooo 10th-Sep-2012 04:25 pm (UTC)
I'd be kind of pissed if I spent money to go to a concert and the singer started talking politics (regardless which candidate they support).
squallyuske14 10th-Sep-2012 04:30 pm (UTC)
I was at that show and it was the greatest 2+ hours of my life.
dirrtypony 10th-Sep-2012 04:33 pm (UTC)
i hope she doesnt do this when i see her. nothing annoys me more when people stop the flow of a show to just talk and talk.
agatharuncible 10th-Sep-2012 05:11 pm (UTC)
seriously?! I love it when artists interact with the audience, if I just wanted to listen to music nonstop I'd stay home and play it on repeat

IKR

Part of the concert experience is the interaction.
dirrtypony 10th-Sep-2012 05:21 pm (UTC)
theres interaction and then there is stopping and giving a sermon.
agatharuncible 10th-Sep-2012 06:06 pm (UTC)
it doesn't sound like a sermon, just said a few sentences. loads of musicians do that, even about random stuff like how much they love the country/city they're playing and what they did that day. I personally love that, I hate it when their interaction is limited to "good evening! everyone sing along!" or w/e.

I also went to one of her shows a few months ago and she was really talkative without disrupting the flow of the show, so I can see where she would fit these in.

housebrownie 10th-Sep-2012 06:31 pm (UTC)
I was at this show! although the crowd just seemed to want her to shut up and sing her usual classics. one of the best and strangest shows I've been to!
stormer1_1 11th-Sep-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
Oh good god the crowds at Boston were like that too. I wanted to set them on fire, I swear, especially when they were yelling at her during Virgin. Like really? Fuck you, do some research before you pay top dollar to bitch all night and irritate the real fans around you.
kimberlyjoan 10th-Sep-2012 06:47 pm (UTC)
and she thinks this helps him because...
vanilla_09 10th-Sep-2012 07:02 pm (UTC)
NGL was kinda dissapointed with her concert, especially considering how epic Confession tour was.
prophecypro 10th-Sep-2012 08:50 pm (UTC)
I mean just vote for him, thats enough
tink_1326 10th-Sep-2012 11:46 pm (UTC)

And I was like WOW....that's weird.
