Did anyone else watch? I was bawling at the story of the young girl who was told she wouldn't even have a year to complete her bucket list.

I cried throughout most of this. And this is probably the only Taylor Swift performance I've ever "enjoyed." It was really heartfelt.

I can't stand Taylor Swift but I thought that song she performed was really touching.

And yeah, I got teary at a few of the personal stories. Especially the little kids.

I can't ever listen to the stories like this without crying.

My 36 yr old cousin just had a double mastectomy so I had to donate for her.

and on a superficial note my baby Matt Damon looked hot.

I'm usually not a very emotional person, but this made me tear up.

It's not the same- AT ALL. But this past year, while I was very pregnant with our first baby, we found out my 26 year old husband had a brain tumor.

he is okay for now, but that whole experience made me realize how short life can be and how much you should appreciate every moment (even though i still complain about stupid shit like work all the time)

It is absolutely terrifying to think of my child having cancer (let alone my husband or myself.)

lisal825 8th-Sep-2012 02:19 am (UTC)
OMG, how is your husband now?!

And congrats on your bb! I'm preggo now with my 3rd. :D
uwannalala 8th-Sep-2012 02:28 am (UTC)
His is good. He underwent 3 rounds of radiation about a year ago- about a month before i had our baby. Super scary- we had to go to the cancer center at the local hospital like twice a week and you just feel so helpless. Yikes!

Since then, all cat scans have shown the tumor decreasing. In fact, although it will never go away, they couldn't even SEE it in the last scan- thats amazing! This particular tumor is slow growing and benign.. so as long as it's not getting any better its cool.

I will always always worry. In fact, after he goes to bed at night, my crazy self always google's info on his tumor.

But, if I look at the big picture, 'brain tumor' wasn't nearly as scary/awful as I thought it would be.
