Lauren Conrad opens up about breakups and love advice



Lauren Conrad has said very little about the end of her three-year romance with Kyle Howard -- until now.



Dating on-and-off since 2008, fashion designer Conrad, 26, and My Boys actor Howard, 34, split in June 2011. Neither star said much about their relationship while together, and they were even more tight-lipped after it ended.

But in an August 29 blog post, Conrad finally opened up about their breakup while doling out relationship advice to one of her single fans. "One thing to keep in mind while you are attending weddings, showers and other events celebrating your friends' relationships is that these aren't things you are missing out on. They are things you have to look forward to," Conrad wrote. "I was in a similar place last year. Twenty-five, newly single and helping one of my best friends plan her wedding, so I know how it can feel."

She added, "It can be hard to feel like you have to start from scratch when you have invested so much time with a person, but shortly after my break up I realized something: I wasn't losing the chance to have love -- I was getting the opportunity to do it all over again."

Indeed. After being set up by pals on Valentine's Day, Conrad began dating USC law student William Tell, 32. Things got serious by July, when the new couple spent five romantic days holed up in a $1,500-a-night suite at the Esperanza resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

"She thinks he's The One," a Conrad pal told US Weekly.

Even though half of it isn't real, the way Heidi acted in her relationship is basically a "what not to do" guide imo. Get a bf, ditch all of your friends, move in quickly, get engaged quickly, I'll add do anything for fame in there. I mean their fame whoring really came back to bite them in the ass, where are they now? She was the only one who couldn't get a spin off show off of the ground.

IKR, they were all much younger than I thought they were. I guess because I was about 16 at the time. I just saw the episode with Lauren's 21st birthday and it was weird because she already had her own apartment, an internship and would go to Paris and stuff and I have done nothing lol.

I know. Since stars have started tO blog and tweet their tweets and post become articles. I thought that celebs directly talking with their fans would have had the opposite effect. Now their are random articles over speculation on the meaning of a retweet. It's ridiculous

I love how she ended up being the only relavent Laguna/ hills star ( i guess kristin gets some press) even though she didn't even try to be after the show. I hope kardashians phase out like majority of this cast. I don't mind reality shows but I feel like the media over reports them. I was so sick of speidi headlines everywhere and now Kim is everywhere. I feel like these reality stars become overexposed to us even if we aren't following them on social media or reading tabloids.
