Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson Soho House Dinner Date Details Revealed
It has now been confirmed that Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson had dinner at private West Hollywood club Soho House on August 23, despite an earlier denial to Gossip Cop by a source close to Perry.
Us Weekly in its new issue quotes a source as saying that Rob and Katy sat at a table for two in the garden and went almost unnoticed because Rob was wearing a cap pulled over his brow.
Perry was seen listening to Rob with rapt attention as they talked. She appeared excited like a school girl and poured on the charm.
"She was jokey with him and a little touchy-feely," the witness tells Us. "They were flirting."
Katy and Rob are old friends who were introduced to each other by mutual friend Shannon Woodward, 27, star of the Fox sitcom Raising Hope.
They've been friends for about five years, says the insider. "Rob and Kristen even hung out with Katy a few times."
However, both Katy and Rob are on the rebound. Katy was recently dumped by John Mayer over email after a hookup that lasted barely a month. Late last year, her husband Russel Brand dumped her.
Rob, Hollywood's biggest heart throb, was jolted by the brazen cheating of his girlfriend of three years Kristen Stewart in July.
Katy is said to have reached out to Rob after Kristen's cheating to check how he is doing.
It is possible that the reported flirting at Soho House could well be innocent banter between friends, because Katy and Rob are so different.
Katy is vibrant and loves loud make-up and partying, traits that reportedly prompted Brand and Mayer to move on from her. Rob is soft spoken and a thorough gentleman.
A Perry source told Us that in the past Katy has referred to Rob as a "pretty face."
"When they met, he was a sweet kid - awkward and shy," says the source. "But he's grown up a lot."
Despite their difference, a source close to Katy says her interest in Rob is not just to provide him a shoulder to cry on.
"She would secretly love to land Rob, but she won't admit it," the source says.
Friends suspect a romance could be brewing up, though currently "they are just friends who have been through a lot."
A source admits that "it would be weird to see Katy and Rob start dating," but adds, "stranger things have happened."
Sources at Soho House tell Gossip Cop that Perry and Pattinson dined as part of a group.

No one in Hollywood ever wants to have happiness, friendship etc. they only want a career and they are not capable of having a relationship that the general public can't ~understand~
