Republican Convention's Mystery Guest Revealed?

I still say the mystery guest is the frozen corpse of Ronald Reagan rolled out onto the stage.

A well-placed Republican source tells Townhall that Oscar-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend Mitt Romney's nominating convention this week.

As the news media scrambles to identify the so-called "mystery speaker" scheduled to address GOP delegates on Thursday evening, some have speculated that the iconic Hollywood figure could fit the bill.

Our source -- who spoke on the condition of anonymity -- could not confirm if Eastwood is, in fact, the intriguing "to-be-announced" speaker, but stated unequivocally that the Dirty Harry star will arrive in Florida late on Wednesday or early on Thursday, and will return to southern California on Friday.

Eastwood endorsed Romney earlier this month and backed Sen. John McCain's presidential bid in 2008. He also attracted political buzz when he cut a controversial Super Bowl ad for Chrysler earlier this year, which some viewed as a tacit message in favor of President Obama. (oops!)

If he is the RNC mystery man, Eastwood would address Republican delegates just prior to Sen. Marco Rubio's introduction of Romney in primetime on Thursday night.

i hate when people don't know the difference between typos and actually grammatical/spelling errors
professor_chaos 30th-Aug-2012 05:19 am (UTC)
i try spellcheck often when it comes to typing/grammar/spelling because I know the minute I miss something someone is going to call me out on it.

Why are you sounding so defensive and antagonistic to fakevoices? IMO she's not insulting U.S. she's speaking to an issue which IS scary. Look at the words coming out of that guys mouth, look at a POC having nuts thrown at her and told "this is how we feed animals." All of that doesn't send a chill down you spine? It's not about saying America is this or that, it's about genuinely fearing for the future. The mingling of church and state is worsening in U.S. you can't tell me the conversations that have gone one, won't make people even consider that very scary fact.

jeezus take a valium already. i wasn't being antagonist. i had a dissenting opinion. god forbid anyone has one on here w/o getting a shit storm.
enid_keaner 30th-Aug-2012 05:05 am (UTC)
I think they had a problem with your reading fakevoice's comments as anti-American. To me, fakevoices wasn't saying that this country is horrible and sucks, but more that we need to get our shit together. Which we do.
professor_chaos 30th-Aug-2012 05:11 am (UTC)
well i won't comment on fakevoice but I can agree we have our problems and need to get our shit together. I just don't think our country is run by people more crazy than any other countries'.
enid_keaner 30th-Aug-2012 05:13 am (UTC)
I think it might seem like that because our crazy people are just loud as hell and our news goes all over the place.

Personally, I think our crazies are more crazy than those in some countries and less crazy than those in other countries. Having crazier people in some other countries doesn't make me feel any better though, because I don't live in those countries and I'm far more concerned about the crazy here.

Plus, I think it is a pretty valid point that when we elect crazy, it tends to affect others in the world more than them electing crazy (unless they are some spectacularly batshit brand of crazy).

Was that really necessary? You could have replied to me without making a comment like that.

Yes, and I had that kind of an opinion too. And what was your response? To tell me to take a valium. Look at you living in a proverbial glass house and throwing those stones.
kurtvonnegut 30th-Aug-2012 05:14 am (UTC)
ia with you. i always lol at people who pretend they're ~concerned~ for poor ol americans. i'm sure.
kurtvonnegut 30th-Aug-2012 05:12 am (UTC)
because it's condescending as hell and the "concern" isn't real, just an excuse for people to talk about how they're not american. let's be real here.
beatlesluv 30th-Aug-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
Well I'm an American born lady here (but been living in Canada for a long time, have family in U.S. and visit frequently. I feel a sense of concern, and the things that have been happening lately genuinely trouble me. I just think people are being a bit too sensitive on their back end as well in assuming people are chiming in about how happy they are not to be American. At least for me, what I'm saying and feeling is genuine concern. :/But i can see how it might be interpreted as being condescending which is why I said "IMO= in my opinion..."
