Republican Convention's Mystery Guest Revealed?

I still say the mystery guest is the frozen corpse of Ronald Reagan rolled out onto the stage.

A well-placed Republican source tells Townhall that Oscar-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend Mitt Romney's nominating convention this week.

As the news media scrambles to identify the so-called "mystery speaker" scheduled to address GOP delegates on Thursday evening, some have speculated that the iconic Hollywood figure could fit the bill.

Our source -- who spoke on the condition of anonymity -- could not confirm if Eastwood is, in fact, the intriguing "to-be-announced" speaker, but stated unequivocally that the Dirty Harry star will arrive in Florida late on Wednesday or early on Thursday, and will return to southern California on Friday.

Eastwood endorsed Romney earlier this month and backed Sen. John McCain's presidential bid in 2008. He also attracted political buzz when he cut a controversial Super Bowl ad for Chrysler earlier this year, which some viewed as a tacit message in favor of President Obama. (oops!)

If he is the RNC mystery man, Eastwood would address Republican delegates just prior to Sen. Marco Rubio's introduction of Romney in primetime on Thursday night.

the problem is most of them are not running the most powerful country in the world
professor_chaos 30th-Aug-2012 04:41 am (UTC)
well if we are still the most powerful country in the world (and that's becoming debatable in the 21st century) we must still be doing something right.
fakevoices 30th-Aug-2012 04:42 am (UTC)
probably won't be the most powerful if you continue to have crazy fanatics making decisions based on "faith and nature" on serious issues.
enid_keaner 30th-Aug-2012 04:43 am (UTC)
I'm with you on this and I'm American. The crazy is doing some real harm.

we've always had religious people in power though. know your american history much? we also have checks and balances that usually work in the end.
fakevoices 30th-Aug-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
i'm aware of that but it just seems like this is on a whole new level of crazy. plus the world has changed

Why are you sounding so defensive and antagonistic to fakevoices? IMO she's not insulting U.S. she's speaking to an issue which IS scary. Look at the words coming out of that guys mouth, look at a POC having nuts thrown at her and told "this is how we feed animals." All of that doesn't send a chill down you spine? It's not about saying America is this or that, it's about genuinely fearing for the future. The mingling of church and state is worsening in U.S. you can't tell me the conversations that have gone one, won't make people even consider that very scary fact.
professor_chaos 30th-Aug-2012 05:00 am (UTC)
jeezus take a valium already. i wasn't being antagonist. i had a dissenting opinion. god forbid anyone has one on here w/o getting a shit storm.
kurtvonnegut 30th-Aug-2012 05:12 am (UTC)
because it's condescending as hell and the "concern" isn't real, just an excuse for people to talk about how they're not american. let's be real here.
