Jessica Alba’s Blonde Hair Transformation

Over the last couple of days Jessica Alba, one of our favorite celebrity brunettes, was transformed into a sexy blonde. Jessica has always famously said that she’d dye her hair any color for a film role, and she’s staying true to her word by going blonde for her latest role as Nancy Callahan in the Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

It’s been 7 years since Jessica first played Nancy in the original Sin City, and we’re excited to see her return to blonde on the big screen. The film doesn’t come out until 2013, but Jessica has kindly shared her blonde transformation on Twitter and Instagram.

With long extensions, blonde hair and darker roots, Nancy is the epitome of the sexy vixen. But have you ever wondered just how long it takes to go from Jessica’s shade of brown to blonde bombshell? Check out Jessica’s photos below, which document the process:

Jessica tweeted “Bye bye brown hair” before undergoing part 1 of her blonde transformation.

Next up, Jessica showed us stage 1 of her dye job, tweeting: “Stage 1 -ok it doesn’t look that different but it’s a process”

Almost there! Jessica tweeted: “Stage 2 of #SinCity2 Nancy hair.”

Finally a blonde, Jessica tweeted: “She got roots that Nancy #sincity2.” We definitely love that Nancy is rocking the oh-so trendy ombre hairstyle!

And finally, she’s ready to roll! Jessica tweeted, “What a way to start the day -training for a movie is sorta fun.”

DUCK FACE IS NOT SEXY

YOU LOOK LIKE A JACKASS
solid_girl 27th-Aug-2012 02:20 pm (UTC)
Hmm looks more like trout pout...I'm still debating.
mylittlerants 27th-Aug-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
Despite looking like a jackass, that is not a duck face. Sorry to break it to ya.
beatlesluv 27th-Aug-2012 02:31 pm (UTC)
I dunno why people do this in photos so often. Just SMILE.
stussytribe 27th-Aug-2012 02:46 pm (UTC)
calm down sis it looks like shes just faking being sad because shes not gonna be a brunette anymore
jello404 27th-Aug-2012 02:51 pm (UTC)

hmm not too terrible
rubyboots 27th-Aug-2012 02:18 pm (UTC)
Wat. Since when was there a Sin City sequel in the works? o.O

And she, as always, looks awful as a blonde.
ms_mmelissa 27th-Aug-2012 04:03 pm (UTC)
They've been talking about a sequel since the first one came out! I always assumed they had just given up and weren't going to do it. Excited that it's finally happening.
blessedbell 27th-Aug-2012 04:24 pm (UTC)
right, that's the most intriguing part of this post
bostongirl2003 27th-Aug-2012 05:57 pm (UTC)
I remember hearing about it when Brittany Murphy was still alive. There was talk that it might boost her career. D:
rubyboots 27th-Aug-2012 05:58 pm (UTC)
:(

that's so sad, especially since I enjoyed her character a lot more than Jessica Alba's
eevee_baby 28th-Aug-2012 05:30 pm (UTC)
oh man her blonde hair looked AWFUL in fantastic four, especially the second one. i dont understand how hair can be coloured so awfully for some movies (the twilight movies are just as terrible with the blonde) and none of the crew seem to give a shit. it actually takes away from the movie at that point haha
coulson 27th-Aug-2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
the duck face tho
emerging 27th-Aug-2012 02:40 pm (UTC)

me too tbh
solid_girl 27th-Aug-2012 02:23 pm (UTC)
Blond almost only looks good on natural blonds. She looks ok with the ombre though.
boomstick 27th-Aug-2012 02:24 pm (UTC)
Totally agree.

quiet_storm 27th-Aug-2012 05:07 pm (UTC)
Lol this comment sounds very indignant. You're right of course.
arianna_meli 28th-Aug-2012 03:56 am (UTC)
Agreed.
ztrellitaa 27th-Aug-2012 03:06 pm (UTC)
IDK, Emma Stone doesn't seem to look better with her natural blonde.
crazyventures 27th-Aug-2012 03:20 pm (UTC)
Blonde is too hard to get right for most people and looks like shit when it starts washing out
wendilili 27th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
that's not true...
mari_lyn00 27th-Aug-2012 09:30 pm (UTC)
Yup. Ombre makes blonde on non natural blondes 100 times more flattering.
ivysaur 28th-Aug-2012 12:57 am (UTC)
No, it can look decent if they've got the right skin tone and their natural color isn't all that dark (and if they don't go for the wrong shade, of course).
hammersxstrings 27th-Aug-2012 02:23 pm (UTC)
i wish the duck face thing would stop

i know, it's such an original complaint
justrachna 27th-Aug-2012 02:25 pm (UTC)
I always respect her for being honest about how hard it is to keep her body on point instead of being like "i can eat everything i want and look like this tee hee!" at least she says you know what i can't eat what i want and i have to do insane workouts and it sucks. /random comment is random
damagedkingdom 27th-Aug-2012 02:51 pm (UTC)
I agree, totally!
ms_mmelissa 27th-Aug-2012 04:04 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I always appreciate it when celebs tell the truth about that. The woman who plays Pam said that she's made peace with the fact that she'll basically be hungry until True Blood ends.
fever 27th-Aug-2012 05:02 pm (UTC)
Kristin said she has to be skinny to get work. It'll probably go past True Blood, but not as extreme.
ivysaur 28th-Aug-2012 01:02 am (UTC)
This. Same with Gwen Stefani. I appreciate their honesty and kind of want to punch celebs who go on about how they eat enough to feed an army and never exercise. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY'RE CLEARLY TONED. YOU DON'T GET TONED BY NOT EXERCISING. I'm like:

eerilybeloved 27th-Aug-2012 02:25 pm (UTC)
She looks odd as a blonde. Especially the blonde she had for F4.
rubyboots 27th-Aug-2012 02:27 pm (UTC)
She looked terrible, like she was a living tumblr graphic that had some very awful photoshop effects applied to her or something

...idk if this is the best description LOL
patiently 27th-Aug-2012 02:38 pm (UTC)
lmfao i know exactly what you're talking about. like those gifs of james mcavoy or the dudes from supernatural where the giffer has enhanced their eyes to some crayola level shit.
eerilybeloved 27th-Aug-2012 02:41 pm (UTC)
Yes. And those tacky blue contacts did not help.

I like Alba, but it was so painfully obvious that she was miscast.
mylittlerants 27th-Aug-2012 02:30 pm (UTC)
Her skin tone doesn't look good with blonde hair.
s7ilver 27th-Aug-2012 02:49 pm (UTC)
It was ok in the first one because it was a honey blonde but then they went full on bleach blonde in the second. So tacky.
bossm 27th-Aug-2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
I liked her as a blond. It didn't look natural because she looks too exotic but it still worked. I know a lot of people who look worse with blond.
bluebandit77 27th-Aug-2012 03:49 pm (UTC)
odd? no she looked hideous.
ms_mmelissa 27th-Aug-2012 04:06 pm (UTC)
I hated the look she had for F4 but this blonde looks better to me.
mari_lyn00 27th-Aug-2012 09:31 pm (UTC)
The tone of blonde in F4 was the worst.
alienclit 27th-Aug-2012 02:26 pm (UTC)
It's not "Nancy hair" without the bangs tho.
fabouluz 27th-Aug-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
True
fabouluz 27th-Aug-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
Excited for this sequel!! I'm going blond next week from dark brown, how long will it take??
tiarlynn 27th-Aug-2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
prolly a couple of processes at least to get it to the color you want

i went blonde from dark dark red last year and it took like two months to get the brass out completely ugh
blessedbell 27th-Aug-2012 04:29 pm (UTC)
I did the one step box process when I pulled the color from my hair. Its like this all in one where it removes and deposits color? It didn't come out platinum, more of a bright, bright blonde with a hint of the red that I had. Like a light strawberry blonde.

BTW, choose your blonds carefully based on your skin tones. There is a difference between golden blondes and ash blondes. I had no idea!
mari_lyn00 27th-Aug-2012 09:33 pm (UTC)
This. I look horrible with golden tones, I always go with ash.
arianna_meli 28th-Aug-2012 04:01 am (UTC)
I have dark brown hair naturally and I go blonde every summer. I was at my lightest/whitest this summer. It took two/three trips to the salon to get it as light as I wanted.

AND! I will probably be going back to brown as soon as it starts getting cooler. I change with the seasons.
dovecage 27th-Aug-2012 02:35 pm (UTC)
I really want to get my black hair stripped out but I don't want to go a horrid red 'transition' colour in between. Can they just strip the black out and put a dark chocolate brown on top? IDK, I hate hair.
rubyboots 27th-Aug-2012 02:37 pm (UTC)
I THINK that only a lighter colour can be stripped off, not a darker one. So I think black hair would have to be gradually lightened by applying lighter brown dye on top.
dovecage 27th-Aug-2012 02:51 pm (UTC)
Is that what Katy Perry had done? I remember hers was a really awful orange colour for months before she went blue. It looked horrid. I'm trying to avoid that if possible.
dirrtypony 27th-Aug-2012 03:03 pm (UTC)
not true. i had black hair and was able to strip it.
larivalitax 27th-Aug-2012 03:19 pm (UTC)
applying lighter brown dye on top would do nothing. it would only take where black pigment wasn't applied.
mari_lyn00 27th-Aug-2012 09:35 pm (UTC)
not true. i got rid of black hair dye all on my own.
actxappalledx 27th-Aug-2012 03:02 pm (UTC)
I went from black to brunette. My hair salon used something called color off I believe that took the black pigments out of my hair and made it a really soft brownish/goldish color, and then they dyed it chocolate brown on top of it. It didn't ruin my hair at all, but it did cost me an arm and a leg
dirrtypony 27th-Aug-2012 03:02 pm (UTC)
hmm see when i stripped my black i went from black to red. i think if you got it stripped they could put color on it but i the color might fade. you would most likely have to dye it a few times before it would start to stick. defly get it professionally done. give a colorist a call and get a consultation done. see what they can do for you :)
thesilverymoon 27th-Aug-2012 03:05 pm (UTC)
Something like Color Oops can strip out the black, but it won't take out all of the pigment--so you might need to go at it multiple times and come prepared with a filler. I've never done it myself, but that's what I've always been told.
Prior to getting it stripped though, you might try fading it with dish soap or things of that nature. Just to get as much of it out first as possible.
ztrellitaa 27th-Aug-2012 03:09 pm (UTC)
I got my black hair stripped out and dyed it a chocolate brown in the same session. I had to get some treatments afterwards so it wouldn't look that damaged tho.
larivalitax 27th-Aug-2012 03:17 pm (UTC)
yes, you can have the black stripped out and put a dark chocolate brown. black hair won't be gradually lightened by applying lighter brown dye on top because color doesn't lift color, it'll only take brown at your roots and the rest would stay black.
mari_lyn00 27th-Aug-2012 09:36 pm (UTC)
Yes, it's possible, so you should be able to find someone who will do this for you.
emerging 27th-Aug-2012 02:39 pm (UTC)

life is so unfair

LOL she is working so hard to stay relevant though.

She has a job. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to go shopping!
makidah 27th-Aug-2012 04:33 pm (UTC)
" She has no job" She does work though (a few movies i think and she has a compagny).

" and no talent" She did Dark Angel which was pretty good imo and then everything went downhill i do not know what happened.
sleeky 28th-Aug-2012 12:43 am (UTC)
I will always sort of like her because of Dark Angel.
