Eighteen of MTV's most loved -- and hated -- former Real World contestants are ready to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real . . . in an effort to win $250,000!

Competitors in Bodrum, Turkey vying for The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons' $250,000 prize starting September 19 include Challenge veteran Wes Bergmann -- who aims to defeat his Real World: Austin costars Lacey Buehler, Danny Jamieson and his ex-wife, Melinda Stolp.

"These people really are as dumb as they look," muses Bergmann of his rivals in the season's explosive preview trailer above.

Agrees Real World: San Diego's Ashley Kelsey of the atmosphere in Turkey: "I feel like I'm living in an insane asylum!"

lots of them got older and have kids or just plain out of shape compared to the younger people.

im 34 and i wouldnt want to have to go up against a guy thats 20 in a challenge.

i wonder if these people have jobs? i mean most of them came in like as recent college grads or in college, but now every season they do this show some for more than 5 years.

but idk havent kept up w/ rw or rr in awhile

IKR? Didn't these people have career aspirations at some points? To me, it seems like it'd be fun to go on an all-expense paid vacation once or twice and then hang it up for a real career.

Katie from RR said that the challenges basically allowed her to sit around for almost 10 years and do nothing because she was paid that well.

Kinda wish they'd go back to doing Road Rules tho, those were my favourite!
