i actually feel bad because 1.) i felt the same way, but mostly 2.) i am an american so i honestly, outside of ontd, maybe have heard of who 3 of these people/groups are. and some, i know their names but have zero clue why they are famous. its a little bit sad actually.

I'm American too, so I only know a few groups as well but I'm so out of touch with mainstream music that I would probably recognize about the same number of people in a US-based post. And honestly you'd find the same hideous outfits at Coachella/Outside Lands/Lollapalooza. I hate mom shorts.
