I know alot of people won't agree with me but Marley & Me was pretty good.

hotcement 19th-Aug-2012 10:26 pm (UTC)
marley & me slayed me. i will never ever watch that movie again. i still wake up in the middle of the night crying at the thought of my dog dying because of that. he has to live at least another 12 years before i MIGHT be ready to say goodbye to him :(
hardcoreninja11 20th-Aug-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
I saw that movie literally a week after I put my own yellow lab to sleep and my heart and soul were literally murdered all over again. That movie hit me so close to home, I was a wreck in my living room.
djtino224 20th-Aug-2012 01:25 am (UTC)
Marley and Me ripped my heart out. I was crying throughout the last half hour or so of that movie.
jenslore 20th-Aug-2012 07:14 pm (UTC)
I was curled up in fetal position on my couch for a solid 15 by the end, not gonna lie
yourremedy 19th-Aug-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
Oh my God.... Seriously, I go into hysterics at this movie..like sit on the floor, sobbing, hyperventilating.
safaiagem 19th-Aug-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
When I still have TV before I moved out I caught Homeward Bound on like the Disney channel or something and was sobbing.
yourremedy 19th-Aug-2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
And also, I know to put in Marley & Me if I need a good cry. I know one day, it was when my cat was nearing the end, she was super sick, I was feeling depressed anyways.. I put on that movie and I knew it was coming and I knew what was going to happen but I literally just sunk to the floor and sobbed for like hours.. It's so so bad. I can't handle it.
nuclearsex 19th-Aug-2012 10:27 pm (UTC)

Oh man, why did I watch this clip. My face is covered in tears now. This movie was so fucking sweet but sad in the end. Ugh.

Most animal movies make me cry at some point, even when they're happy movies. Something about them just hit me emotionally.
oh_sailor 24th-Aug-2012 05:11 pm (UTC)
I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THIS AND I'M FIGHTING BACK TEARS.

You're right, FUCK animal movies. Especially dog movies.
misspinkkate 19th-Aug-2012 10:13 pm (UTC)
Whoa, the kid dies? Count me out. I just had a baby, I can't do sad shit anymore. That stupid XKCD comic about the Mars rover was bad enough.

Once I had children I just could not anymore with sad movies or horror movies. The sad shit is just too close to home, and the horror stuff... there's already enough potential horror in real life. I sense that more acutely now and prefer not to go looking for it, thanks.
lachica2000 19th-Aug-2012 10:13 pm (UTC)
I feel bad for laughing but I had to pause it at "IF YOU DO YOU'LL TEAR OUT YOUR EYES!" because I was laughing so hard.

I just saw Warrior with Joel in it and that movie was fantastic

Because he is a magic child born of the garden and their hopes and dreams AND THIS IS WHERE HE TELLS THEM THAT THEIR DREAMS ARE DEAD.

I cried so hard at the end of Warrior, tbh.
littlepunkryo 19th-Aug-2012 10:42 pm (UTC)
Same and I was not expecting that. I'm glad I watched it by myself first, my brother would have made fun of me, lol.

ME TOO
hardcoreninja11 20th-Aug-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
Ooooh, I just watched that last night for the first time. I cried a little too. Their long-awaited brotherly moment and the music just got to me.
wickedchild_md 19th-Aug-2012 10:41 pm (UTC)
Warrior is so underrated. I stan so hard for that movie it's really rather pathetic lol.
yourremedy 19th-Aug-2012 10:14 pm (UTC)
HAHAHA! This is so funny!!
I cry at like EVERY movie, I mean I cried at the Katy Perry movie, but I didn't cry at this one, oddly. I won tickets to an advanced screening and so my friend and I were in the very front row, center, so maybe the fact I had a shitty seat, contributed to it.
sandstorm 19th-Aug-2012 10:16 pm (UTC)
...Am I the only one surprised that people took their kids to see this movie? Do kids want to see this movie? I don't really remember kids clamoring to see Disney live action except maybe Enchanted.

But really, this week it was either this or (the scary/sad/funny/awesome as hell) ParaNorman, so...
adb7 19th-Aug-2012 10:16 pm (UTC)

Haha, me too. The art was too beautiful to behold. It was like watching the classic Disney movies again, but a thousand times more beautiful.
sbennettwealer Re: WHAT MOVIE MAKES YOU CRY EVERY TIME YOU SEE IT?20th-Aug-2012 02:06 am (UTC)
Yep. I cried through much of Tangled - because, think about it: It's about a kidnapped child whose parents still light lanterns each year out of grief. Sheesh. Now that I have kids that kind of thing really gets to me.

King Kong (the remake, not the original). UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THAT MOVIE IDC THAT I'M LIKE THE ONLY ONE LEFT WHO DOES.

I cry when they leave the island. Then I bawl hysterically at the end. Every single time I see it. Seeing it in theatres when it opened was hilarious in retrospect. Everyone was just sitting there sobbing and no one got up until the credits ended lolol never experienced anything like it. The second time I saw it in theatres I clutched my friend and we sobbed into each other's shoulders nice and dramatically.

Even the trailer makes me cry.

Marley & Me, the end of Meet Joe Black, the end of Away We Go, My Girl. I can't even watch Dumbo.

I remember sobbing at the end of City of Angels when I saw it in the theater. I was so pissed at how it ended. I should probably be pissed I cried watching a Nic Cage movie.

When I was little it was a movie called Scruffy about the life of this little dog. The mom dog saved her puppy from a fire, then was shot by hunters later. The puppy was adopted by a homeless person that later died, and there was another dog who lost her puppy and carried around a shoe all the time calling it her baby. I used to bawl so bad watching that movie, but it was my favorite.

That movie Life As A House with Hayden Christensen makes me ugly cry. I rented it as a 15-year-old because I was obsessed with him and wanted to watch everything he was in. Little did I know I'd end up SOBBING so bad.

Stepmom also makes me cry, mostly because a lot of it relates to my life (stepmom, mom with cancer, mom with cancer who dies)

also apparently there is this movie that came out when i was seven about a snowman who never had any friends in the north pole and he had a flute that he would play to the stars because he was lonely and then like santa breaks his flute or something by accident so the snowman goes on a killing spree and my parents came home and i was like DEVASTATED, and they still tell everyone about it.

Philadelphia. The first time I saw it, I cried and cried. Then my brother was diagnosed and I couldn't even hear that Bruce Springsteen song without sobbing like an insane person. Every time I see the movie, I just dissolve.

Also, Titanic. The musicians playing, the mom putting her kids to bed, the couple lying together...ugh.

Edited to add Anastasia, when she sees her family again and dances with her dead father. OMG.

i think the only time i ever cried as hard as these kids did it was over the finale of six feet under. i would randomly break down crying for MONTHS after that. imagine being that inconsolable as a child? oh god.

FUCK just typing that made me tear up. i was so pressed @ the olympics using sia's 'breathe me' in one of their commercials this year because that's not the kind of song you can just sneak up on people. it even showed up in the middle of a random scene on veronica mars where she and logan are making out in his car and it was a remix but i STILL cried. and it wasn't even a sad scene.
actxappalledx 19th-Aug-2012 10:28 pm (UTC)
I cry for all even remotely sad movies and shows, lol, but I probably had the biggest breakdown on the season 2 finale of Grey's Anatomy. That was like the most emotionally taxing 3 hrs of television I ever watched. I just re-watched it last night and i still sobbed. The shooting episode as well.
hotcement 19th-Aug-2012 10:31 pm (UTC)
i cry for everything remotely sad too but never as badly as for 6fu. and i didn't lose it at the grey's s2 finale because i hated denny but omg the s5 finale?!?! WHEN MEREDITH REALIZES GEORGE IS THE JOHN DOE? oh my god. i screamed so fucking loud that my dad came running.

i'm trying to think of specific things that make me ugly cry but i think i just block them from my memory after the fact lol.

THAT SCENE

I watched it on YouTube years after watching the first season of the show and never seeing any of the rest of it. BAWLED MY EYES OUT EVEN THO I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON IN ANY OF THEIR LIVES POST-S1. It was ridic. Later I went back and finished the series, and bawled really really hard again at the ending, although that time at least I had context for the rest of it.

That last scene with all of them dying makes me sad & teary right up until we see Brenda drop dead while Billy yammers on and on with all his New Age pop psychology bullshit.

Then I start cackling. It's like Brenda finally dies out of exasperation and boredom - you just know she's been listening to his endless navel-gazing for the last 50 years and she's like, "OK, that's enough. I'm out"
hausofashley 20th-Aug-2012 07:17 pm (UTC)
I've cried a lot to TV shows and movies (see icon - that arch had me bawling so hard) but recently, not having watched an episode of House before, I cried so hard at "Acceptance" when Dr. Cameron was telling House that someone should care about the patient who had no one in her life to care that she was dying.. and that she should know she is worth caring for, and missed.

.. just typing that out made me tear up.
