Cher Lloyd booed and bottled off the stage

Cher Lloyd has been forced off stage at V Festival following huge boos and bottles being thrown.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It would seem that not everyone at V Festival is a Cher Lloyd fan after the teen singer was forced to cut her set short as the crowd sent out a chorus of boos.

The crowd then started throwing bottles on to the stage and it's believed that some of the bottles were not filled with water.

Yep, it's believed some of the audience started throwing bottles of wee.

Charming.

Unsurprisingly, the star is reported to be totally upset due to the incident and was spotted crying backstage.

Ironically, her new album is called Sticks and Stones and was trending on Twitter today after Cher promised fans some previously unreleased artwork.

Now it is simply 'Cher' which is trending following the news of what has happened at the festival.

Yesterday Cher performed at the other V Festival site in Staffordshire with no problems, and put on a fab show.

Where's your swagger now ?
forbidden_john 19th-Aug-2012 07:10 pm (UTC)
You would suppose many would lose their swag after having bottles of piss thrown at them.
miss_real 20th-Aug-2012 10:00 am (UTC)
She knew going onto the stage getting bottled/cups of piss thrown at her was a possibility, as it (sadly) goes on at most festivals as the crowd are on a non stop binge drink all weekend.
pudgemaggs 19th-Aug-2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
Not a big Cher fan but dang what a harsh and pathetic crowd.
muzik_love 19th-Aug-2012 06:15 pm (UTC)
i agree. that's a really fucked up thing to do.

silentxstrom 19th-Aug-2012 07:55 pm (UTC)
ia, it's disgusting what the crowd did to her.
totallybeaches 19th-Aug-2012 08:32 pm (UTC)
I left V a day early because everyone was annoying me so much, including my own group of friends! It seemed everyone was there just to drink and get high, and not give a shit.
alexiaagulto 19th-Aug-2012 09:31 pm (UTC)
Agreed.
bohhead 20th-Aug-2012 02:57 am (UTC)
iawtc, also she's not that great live it seeems so who decided booking her for such a big event was a good idea???
slacker_chic 20th-Aug-2012 02:09 pm (UTC)
mte. What kind of person would do such a thing?
fauxparadiso 19th-Aug-2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
Did she even do anything to deserve that? If you don't like a musician then walk away from the set.
taecish 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
ppl who go to these type of festivals generally hate manufactured pop artists. it's not surprising tbh it's happened in the past to other pop musicians
fauxparadiso 19th-Aug-2012 06:14 pm (UTC)
Yeah but it's misguided anger. If they're pissed with the lineup then make noise at the people producing the festival, not the musician.
lovepollution 19th-Aug-2012 06:15 pm (UTC)
Reminds me of this classic.

itsglenncoco 19th-Aug-2012 06:20 pm (UTC)
But it's V Festival lol it's about 95% pop stars
nmhrbrtsn 19th-Aug-2012 06:30 pm (UTC)
v is filled with manufactured pop stars tho
teacup_humans 19th-Aug-2012 06:33 pm (UTC)
idk v fest is mainly chart acts, leeds/reading, creamfields, download etc are more pretentious.
hunty 19th-Aug-2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
Yep, it's believed some of the audience started throwing bottles of wee.

lol i cant
ilovestarburst 19th-Aug-2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
I'm not really a fan of her but I hate seeing stuff like this happen, it's SO harsh..
rezoom 19th-Aug-2012 09:42 pm (UTC)
Completely. I hope some big non-pop stars like Thom Yorke et. al. will come out against this ricockulous behavior and come down hard. NO one should be treated this way for singing a song they were hired to sing ffs. This hooliganism belongs at football (if anywhere), not festivals.
ilovestarburst 20th-Aug-2012 12:19 pm (UTC)
Hey you! Hope you're well.

You're so right. I hate it when people find it funny or amusing in any way. I always feel so sorry for the artist in question. Can you imagine having to be in that position, especially someone like Cher Lloyd who is still young and establishing herself! Poor girl, she doesn't deserve that, no one does. :(
xdecadentx 21st-Aug-2012 01:45 pm (UTC)
Same, it's so dangerous.
arisma 19th-Aug-2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
Booing, razzing, walking away, those are all acceptable options for a performance you're not into. Bottling is bullshit.
insomniachobs 19th-Aug-2012 06:13 pm (UTC)
This. I don't like her music either but there is zero call to treat her like that. Nobody's making you listen to it.
ch33rylips 19th-Aug-2012 06:19 pm (UTC)
Unless it's creed/nickleback/hinder.
liebestorys agreed19th-Aug-2012 06:22 pm (UTC)
arisma 19th-Aug-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
Nope, even then. If you go to a creed/nickelback/hinder show you deserve what you get.

idet those first two are acceptable tbh. if you don't like it, leave. you knew she was going to be there, and you went anyway. don't ruin her and her fans' time because you're an immature bitch.

~~imo~~

ITA.
forbidden_john 19th-Aug-2012 07:11 pm (UTC)
I don't see why booing is an acceptable option. You're ruining it for everyone else who is enjoying it. If you don't like it walk away and go to another stage.
callmemaybeplz 19th-Aug-2012 06:11 pm (UTC)
She should just stay in the US tbh
superhetoric 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
the open hostility toward things that are "for teenage girls" is really interesting (and sad) to me. i'm not a fan of her music but my heart goes out to her, that must really feel horrible.
lunarsole 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
I totally agree, especially with your first sentence
muzik_love 19th-Aug-2012 06:16 pm (UTC)
yeah i really hate music snobs.
goldengal1193 19th-Aug-2012 06:20 pm (UTC)

Mte like how my 34 year old brother dislikes Justin Bieber...why do you even have an opinion on him?
superhetoric 20th-Aug-2012 02:18 am (UTC)
i feel that exact way about twilight. yeah, it's got some pretty fucked up moral subtext but it's about fucking vampires. it's not something to be taken seriously, and if people make the mistake of taking it seriously, that's their problem. it's not a serious social ill. there are a LOT of other extremely popular yet poorly written books/films out there, but i don't see them getting hate on the same level as twilight. video games are fucking lowbrow and are violent in a really disturbing way, yet the same nerds who get up in arms about twilight's very existence will go to the mat to defend video games. nobody can convince me there isn't a gender snobbery element in play in that dichotomy.
rezoom 19th-Aug-2012 09:44 pm (UTC)
A very interesting take; I hadn't thought about that aspect. Will be pondering muchly.
infinite93 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
We got covered in so much piss when we went last year!
That horrible feeling when something hits you and it's warm...
ugh.
dimitrign 19th-Aug-2012 06:13 pm (UTC)
Do the people at the V festival always throw piss....

fauxparadiso 19th-Aug-2012 06:15 pm (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know never to go there.
jenjen28 19th-Aug-2012 06:41 pm (UTC)
lol so true! always hoped that wen liquid hits its cold...but it never was cold all the time :(
dimitrign 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
That's so rude and unnecessary. I get not liking her, but do you really have to throw bottles of piss at her? Just wait for the next act.
georgie_georgie 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
What horrible people. Yeah, her songs are horrible, but what they did was just extreme. Pressed people.
spider 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
I don't really care about her but no one deserves that. I always feel bad when celebrities cry over stuff like that instead of throwing a fit, because I feel like I'd probably do the same thing.
yeves 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
shit audiences are the worst. i find that at times, the way an audience behaves can make or break a show for me.
notajingoist 19th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
ok that's just mean.
lunarsole 19th-Aug-2012 06:13 pm (UTC)
that's just nasty and unnecessary imo :/
