Jessie J helped to wake a 6-year-old fan from a coma by singing her favorite song at her bedside.
Tyla Atkin, who was involved in a car crash in April, sustained injuries that meant she may have never walked, talked or even smiled properly again. She had been in a coma for eight days.
"Doctors say you have to keep talking to people in comas to keep them focused and connected," the girl's mother Michelle Hart told The Sun. "I believe Jessie J saved Tyla. She gave my daughter back to me. I'm so grateful."
She managed to get a message to the star's people and Jessie spent half an hour at Tyla's bedside, singing the child's favorite song 'Rainbow' to her as she began to stir.
"It was amazing," said Hart. "She seemed to really understand what we were going through."
Atkin has now made a full recovery and said she loves Jessie - who has kept in touch with the family and monitored her progress - "with all her heart".
"I've got a picture of her," the schoolgirl from Kent added. "I always put my hand on it and pray." source
