It was already awkward before, because in spring 2011 he told us his fiance was expecting twins, then she moved in with him (and his parents) and ... you know, no baby. So, we never asked about that or mentioned it again. Then it was his fiance yelling at him on the lawn that day, like she was gonna *kill* him, and his family holding her back, and him just... standing there and taking it.
We have theories, but we probably will never know what happened. Theories range from the obvious "he cheated on her" (which honestly, could have resulted in his dad kicking him out because he values morality and good behavior above all else) to "he joined the marines and she didn't want him to", which his dad has mentioned he wanted to do.
But, you know, it's not something you just go out and ask, because it's really none of our business.
