Carey Mulligan in Negotiations for 'Nancy and Danny'

Carey Mulligan is in negotiations to star in Nancy and Danny, a thriller being developed by Indian Paintbrush.

Set in a small town, the project concerns a money-hungry woman (Mulligan) whose big-city dreams failed. In order to land a high school crush, she uses a hapless man as a pawn in a get-rich-quick scheme that quickly goes wrong.

The project is said to be in the vein of To Die For, Gus Van Sant’s 1995 black comedy that featured a breakout performance by Nicole Kidman. Sources said Mulligan pursued the part.

Brad Inglesby wrote the script for Nancy, which is being produced by Alexandra Milchan of EMJAG Productions, Indian Paintbrush’ Steven Rales and Mark Roybal as well as Todd Field.

James Marsh, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed documentary Man on a Wire, is on board to direct. Brad Ingelsby wrote the script.

Mulligan, who last year co-starred in Drive and Shame, next will be seen in The Great Gatsby. The Baz Luhrmann-directed adaptation just moved its release date from December to summer 2013.

The actress is repped by CAA, Julian Belfrage and Ziffren Brittenham.

Marsh is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group, while Ingelsby is repped by WME, Energy Entertainment and McKuin Frankel.

oh this sounds kind of like young adult
georgiana08 16th-Aug-2012 02:03 am (UTC)
One of the other casting articles (indie wire, I think) likened this to YA. I'm excited to see her take on something a bit grittier.

She seems nice enough but I just don't like her acting

It's really good, although some scenes are dragged out to an uncomfortable length.

she successfully looks cute and mature at the same time.

I wish Abbie Cornish got more (and better) work. I really like her.
enid_keaner 16th-Aug-2012 02:24 am (UTC)
I really can't think of anyone I wouldn't have had issues with for Daisy.

Should have gotten an unknown
onesilkstocking 16th-Aug-2012 03:58 am (UTC)
ia. I honestly can't think of a single person I would want to portray Daisy.

georgiana08 16th-Aug-2012 02:16 am (UTC)
I loved her Sally Sparrow hair. I wish she'd stop bleaching it and grow it out again.
winter_lace 16th-Aug-2012 02:12 am (UTC)
I've figured out why I dislike her. She reminds me of a boring arse beige girl I used to work with, who thought she was the shit and used to say things like "lesbians always hit on me, something about the way I dress" and "my lover gave this to me" (her lover being some 38 year old loser and she was like 21) who was just sickly sweet to everyone but completely useless at everything.

Fuck what a twat
ponpiri 16th-Aug-2012 02:15 am (UTC)
I really like her as an actress, but whenever I talk about her I forget her name :(

she looks so cute there
ohsofierce_x3 16th-Aug-2012 03:14 am (UTC)
I always wanted to watch Never Let Me Go.

She seems like such a cool person and she's married to Marcus Mumford, so the probably talk about cool things like existentialism and Machiavelli.
xcollsangelx 16th-Aug-2012 04:17 am (UTC)
Flawless actress.
