JGL's interviews are always fun to me because I never now if I'll finish reading them thinking "Shut the fuck up, you hispter douchebag" or "That's actually really interesting, Joe". Thankfully, I'm leaning more towards the latter than the former with this one. He had already said that his character in 500 Days of Summer was a whiny asshole, but I guess it always bears repeating.
I believe Playboy is actually famous for its interesting reads. Not 100% of them, but at least some. I heard in a documentary that that was one of Hef's goals - to combine pretty women with interesting, hopefully well-written reads for men.
I want a version of that, but for me u.u a consistent one!
The Occupy movement is a pop culture happening that’s saying money is not what’s cool. What’s cool is doing something worthwhile. If your goal is to make money in the movie industry, you make crappy movies, not good ones.
I would encourage anyone who has a crush on my character to watch it again and examine how selfish he is. He develops a mildly delusional obsession over a girl onto whom he projects all these fantasies. He thinks she’ll give his life meaning because he doesn’t care about much else going on in his life. A lot of boys and girls think their lives will have meaning if they find a partner who wants nothing else in life but them. That’s not healthy. That’s falling in love with the idea of a person, not the actual person.
Well said sir.
I think that sexist comment he made will still make me side eye but if he keeps talking like this then maybe I'll stop disliking him
TBH I just think he can be a bit arrogant and he tries soooo hard it always seems a little desperate
He needs to just relax and read a book or something
that quote speaks so much to me since I recently recovered from a heartbreak very similar to the one his character goes through. I now know that yes, I loved him, but he wasn't the love of my life simply because I believe the love of your life should want to be with you, at least once or even forever, but not "never".
And yeah IA that he takes himself a bit too seriously but I think there are more extreme cases out there. Like, idk, Aaron Johnson strucks me as worst. He fucking said the first movie he remembers seeing was fight club. Seriously? I feel like he's trying to give off a "smart" image ALL THE TIME.
GORDON-LEVITT: I grew up in the 1990s, when it was considered cool to be excessively rich. That’s what rappers rapped about, and later that’s what Paris Hilton had a TV show about and what MTV Cribs was about. The Occupy movement is a pop culture happening that’s saying money is not what’s cool. What’s cool is doing something worthwhile. If your goal is to make money in the movie industry, you make crappy movies, not good ones.
I'm not an expect on the Occupy movement, but I would say he is privileged and it's nice not to have to worry about money. Anyway, he says a bunch of things that are annoying and he seems a bit full of himself. He's a good actor though and a lot of the things he says I agree with 100%.
one of the best Q&A interviews i've ever read of a celeb. he's giving exactly what i expected (and more) from him as a person. i MUST fan-meet him and infiltrate his social circle... i have got to work with this guy omg.
I was surprised when he said that about CNN and MSNBC...even educated people seem to be incapable of acknowledging that bias exists on all sides of the news. They're all shitty, which is why I either watch all of them and check up on what I care about on my own or I just pay no attention to any of them.
I feel like most educated people know CNN and MSNBC are biased, but don't really give a fuck because those aren't their only methods of accessing political information. That's not always the case for Fox News viewers.
is it the "no pictures" thing? lol he thinks he's doing them a favor, but, yeah he should probably bend a little on his stance as he gets more famous. it's not going to fly.
He had already said that his character in 500 Days of Summer was a whiny asshole, but I guess it always bears repeating.
His gq spread was vomit inducing tbh.
I want a version of that, but for me u.u a consistent one!
he can't sing though
He can sing his ass off.
TBH
