Rashida Jones has apologized for a comment that she made implying that John Travolta is gay and needs to come out of the closet.
In an interview with Spinning Platters to promote her new movie Celeste and Jesse Forever, the 36-year-old actress discussed Frank Ocean‘s coming out and voiced her hope that a major movie star would come out next.
“A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let’s do this,” she said.
Rashida took to her Twitter account to apologize for the comment: “Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta. I sincerely apologize. Nobody’s personal life is my business,” she wrote.

i'm on the fence on how i feel about celebrities coming out or being forced out - it's like on one hand they have a right to their privacy on the other hand, being gay isn't a vice and it's not a bad thing so for someone to say that another person is gay shouldn't be taken as a negative thing idk
younger celebs, i understand to a certain level of privacy, but they CAN come out and have it be an immensely positive thing. especially celebs around 20-30, they will lose a hell of lot less and it's more sad that they would attempt to hide at this point.
