Former Big Brother contestant Kenneth Tong sends vile tweets to Gary Barlow about stillborn child

A former Big Brother contestant has caused mass anger with his vile comments about grieving Gary Barlow's stillborn daughter.

Kenneth Tong made a series of offensive statements on his Twitter account about the musician's late daughter Poppy, who was delivered stillborn last week.

The 28-year-old self styled playboy was condemned by fellow users for using Take That song lyrics to attack Barlow and his wife at this difficult time.

Tong, who appeared on series 10 of Big Brother in 2009, targeted both Gary and his wife Dawn with his sick messages throughout the week.

Amongst making what he deemed to be jokes about the situation, Tong also posted a picture of a child's coffin accompanied by more sickening comments.

Due to the online outcry, Kenneth Tong began to trend globally and his followers increased to almost 180,000.

Many fellow Twitter users were quick to defend Gary and began a campaign to get Tong's profile shut down on the social network site.

The one account Tong was following on Twitter was that of British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but she blocked him earlier today after seeing his messages.

The millionaire from Hong Kong has caused controversy before back in 2011 when he faced death threats as a result of launching a pro-anorexia campaign.

At the time, he advertised a slimming pill on Twitter using disruptive statements to persuade girls to endorse a 'controlled anorexia' scheme to become a size zero.

Celebrities including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Simon Cowell all blasted him for his foul comments, which he later claimed were a joke.

He later told The Sun: 'Even my own friends have turned against me - but it was an exercise that I wanted to keep up for a week.

'I love to be challenged. It was so illogical a concept. It did not make sense but so many people bought into it. I proved how easy it is to become a global phenomena in the age of instant media.'

He also befriended and stuck up for user Rileyy_69, who was arrested after abusing Olympic diver Tom Daley about his dead father via Twitter.

We both went to Ferris. I apprenticed under Austin & worked at Desired Skin for a bit. We talked about livejournal/ONTD on your porch at the corner house; your handle looked familiar and one click later, bam, it's Jess.
