Lena Dunham, creator and star of HBO's Girls posts a photo of herself on twitter wearing a muslim veil (hijab) with the caption "I had a real goth/fundamentalist attitude when I woke up from my nap"

together, their salaries would help them live comfortably in new york (is that where they are??) but not very comfortably- and that's if they only had themselves to take care of. if they have loans or anything for cars and their house/condo, that changes things. living (on the east coast) is actually expensive!

Her parents are in the midwest somewhere in a small town where housing prices would be very low, as would the cost of living, and their jobs probably come with good benefits. They support their daughter's life in Brooklyn where they pay her rent and, I think, give her spending money, etc.
