Gorl...

Naomi Campbell's difficult personality and explosive temper have made many an assistant want to pull out their hair! Now the supermodel is suffering from major bald patches herself and RadarOnline.com has exclusive insight into her hair-raising problem.

"It's hideous, what did she do? It looks really bad!" said shocked hair stylist Kazumi Morton from the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills. "I have been doing hair extensions for years but I have never had a problem like this."

RadarOnline.com first reported two years ago that Campbell's obsession with elaborate weaves and extensions could pose a dangerous threat to her beautiful long locks, and new photos showing bare patches on her tortured scalp prove our prediction.

"I think whoever put the extensions in they put them way too close," Morton, who has not worked with Naomi, explained to RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. "Around the hairline and the neck, the hairs are very delicate and fragile and you need to avoid attaching extensions in that area.

Oh my receding hairline o_O

I always feel worse for women than men with this problem. ...On the other hand her braids over the years probably caused this. I thought we'd learned from Brandy.

How do you take care of your hair? Is it high maintenance or low maintenance?
Mines' low maintenance. I have straight, Asian hair, and my hair grows fast. I like the look of curly hair more, but only curl my hair on special occasions because I'm too lazy to do it more often.
hannahgrace456 9th-Aug-2012 04:44 am (UTC)
Low maintenance. It's blonde and on the thinner side. Since it's summer I've only been styling it once every two weeks, if that. When I do style it I just use heat protectant, hot rollers or a curling iron, and on occasion some volumizer.
ilouboutin 9th-Aug-2012 04:45 am (UTC)
high maintenance. i've got thick, massive, natural african american hair. take's about an hr to blowdry and a good 45 mins to flat-iron.
classic_mold137 9th-Aug-2012 04:46 am (UTC)
Me too.
tiddlywinks103 9th-Aug-2012 04:52 am (UTC)
I blow-dry, then flat iron together in parts, so after about 45 min, I'm fully done.
bigbranch 9th-Aug-2012 04:54 am (UTC)
you do that everyday?
mikilove13 9th-Aug-2012 04:59 am (UTC)
Same.
infinite93 9th-Aug-2012 05:02 am (UTC)
mte, and a few days of flat iron to keep it from getting curly again from any sign of humidity
foreverxromance 9th-Aug-2012 04:46 am (UTC)
i relax my hair every 3-4 months. right now it's shoulder length since i had to cut it bc i fucked it up by using a flat iron everyday. (it used to be half way down my back). once a week i leave coconut oil on overnight and use shampoo/conditioner from dominican republic.
hershelwalker 9th-Aug-2012 04:47 am (UTC)
I have mixed black/white 3b/3c curls that I relax. it's dry, frizzy, coarse, and I shed a lot - super high maintenance. and it's long, about to the middle of my back.

enid_keaner 9th-Aug-2012 04:48 am (UTC)
I'm black...I guess it's high maintenance. My hair is thick and annoying as hell.

I relax my hair (yes, I know, evil, whateves) and basically I just wash, blow dry and flat iron. Takes 45 minutes to blow dry through.

My hair grows pretty quickly. I typically keep it somewhere around shoulder length. I'm actually due for a haircut now.

cartooneyes 9th-Aug-2012 04:48 am (UTC)
I co wash, detangle, slap a wig cap on it and put a lace front on.
Though I'm rethinking that and I'm tempted to just wear my little fro as it is now. My edges ain't worth it.
kurtvonnegut 9th-Aug-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
high
booneral 9th-Aug-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
low maintenance. i have relaxed hair, so i just wrap it up at night, and in the morning i let it down, comb it out, put some oil in it and go. sometimes i'll use clips-ins when i'm not feeling lazy lol
silentsymphonie 9th-Aug-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
i have pretty thick curly hair but it's low maintenance because i kind of made it that way. i don't want to spend a lot of time styling and making the curls perfect so i just wash it and put in some leave in products and go.
menorahmajora 9th-Aug-2012 04:53 am (UTC)
High maintenece wavy near waist-length Italian hair that tends to have a really gross frizzy textureif I don't pop it in rollers/ seeing as I am Italian(1/4) and from New Jersey, I like my hair big(and wave my hands all over the place when I talk, I'm quite the stereotype lmao)
alexislex 9th-Aug-2012 04:53 am (UTC)
Mine is medium maintenance, I guess. It's not easy to take care of but I have a routine I go through each week that allows me to do the least amount of work and still have pretty decent hair. I'm black. My hair type is 4c/4d
muzicnem 9th-Aug-2012 04:55 am (UTC)
Low maintenance. Fine and strawberry blonde. It's kinda basic-looking rn bc I'm trying to grow it out.
rlmoonyk 9th-Aug-2012 04:56 am (UTC)
I'm black and my hair is somewhat high maintenance. doesn't take long to wash but blow drying is a pain.

I loved having braids because I could just wake up and go~
theartistprince 9th-Aug-2012 04:57 am (UTC)
low maintence. Super straight, thin-medium thickness, grows fast, give it a wash and condition.

It gets greasy fast tho.
magwildwood 9th-Aug-2012 04:58 am (UTC)
mine's medium maintenance? it depends on who you're talking to on whether it's high or low. i'm multiracial (black & mexican), but it really cooperates with me. so it's really curly, but never gets oily and only sometimes gets frizzy. i usually blow dry it though, which takes some time, but then i don't wash for a few days, and it stays put. the day after blowdrying i'll put it in a bun before bed and it's nice and wavy in the morning, so i just take it out and move on.
xpirate_queenx 9th-Aug-2012 05:03 am (UTC)
Mine is impossibly thick and there isn't a clip alive that can hold it.
hergun_wentbang 9th-Aug-2012 05:03 am (UTC)
low maintenance, I have a pixie cut :D. very freeing.
kyoumei 9th-Aug-2012 05:06 am (UTC)
Low maintenance when I don't flat iron it. I'm a mutt, and my hair texture is 3c/4a, I think. It's pretty thick and about 6 or 7 inches below my shoulders (when straight). I usually do a pre-wash conditioning treatment, wash it, and condition it again. The only products I use daily are a leave-in conditioner and sometimes some gel. If it feels dry, I'll use a bit of oil.

I rarely blow-dry or flat iron it because I don't like using heat on my hair.

alienclit 9th-Aug-2012 05:07 am (UTC)
medium maintenance huge ass curly/wavy hair. I rarely ever do anything with it though because I'm lazy.
choukoumei 9th-Aug-2012 05:11 am (UTC)
High high super high maintenance. I hate my hair.

Maybe this would be a good place to ask, how would you style curly/wavy hair that tends to frizz and tangle SUPER easily. Like my hair looks semi-okay when I go out in the morning but then the wind and humidity always messes it up.

I have tried EVERYTHING. I gave up on straightening it so I just tend to take a curling iron to it when I want it to look like a non mess, but I also try to leave it alone some days.

Any hair product recommendations or ways to style it? I swear if any of you could help me with the frizz I'd be your friend forever.
soul_amazinn 9th-Aug-2012 05:13 am (UTC)
i really don't do much to my hair. my main issue is the thickness and detangling it.

i don't flat iron that often anymore because i don't want the damage... and i'm too lazy
callme_morbid 9th-Aug-2012 05:15 am (UTC)
high maintenance. it's massively thick, mainly coarse, wavy, and prone to frizz. i'm too lazy to care anymore, so it's usually down or braided.
devourlove 9th-Aug-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
high maintenance i think. much easier since i started going natural but i've got really thick, 4a curly hair - very heat resistant and almost impossible to straighten without relaxers. I don't miss the relaxing that much at all, though. Super obnoxious upkeep. Now I condition it everyday, put some curl activator/conditioners in it, etc. and I don't know if i'm doing it right but

yeah
etoile_amore 9th-Aug-2012 05:23 am (UTC)
I'm ridiculously lucky.

I've got pin-straight thick hair that's a really dark red.
Once I shower, I don't even need to brush it because it just falls into place. Downside though is that unless I get it professionally done, it won't hold curls whatsoever.
alicel 9th-Aug-2012 05:31 am (UTC)
high maintenance. i have naturally black, short, wavy hair. it is currently ash/platinum blond with keratin fusion extensions in. shit's a pain.
sihaya09 9th-Aug-2012 05:36 am (UTC)
Medium, but only because of my dye routine, as it's magenta pink. I have fine, bra-strap length, wavy hair.

It would be low-maintenance but for the lingering 3" of bleach damaged bits I'm growing out to cut off, which make my hair tangle and frizz and dry out. I've given up on dyes with ammonia, stopped heat drying, started using hair oil (love Orofluido), and adjusted my shampoo, and that's done a lot of good things for my hair in the last few months. So aside from the dye, I'll be low maintenance again in a month or two.
lillie_poo_pod 9th-Aug-2012 05:37 am (UTC)
I've been natural for about 10 months now and it's been pretty low maintenance. The only time I really can't stand it is when I twist it. My hair only to the end of my neck so it takes me a good 3 hours to twist, but other than that it's not too bad.
coldasicecream 9th-Aug-2012 05:40 am (UTC)
Medium maintenance. My hair is on the curly side and can get frizzy if it doesn't get conditioned enough so on top of regular conditioner I use deep conditioner like 3 times a week and leave it in for an hour.
milly 9th-Aug-2012 05:45 am (UTC)
My hair is super thick and super curly (big curls) I'd say between low and high maintenance, depending on what I do? I don't work outside of the house right now, and it's a hot summer in Alabama, so I basically just wash, put some anti-frizz, some mousse, shake my head and use some hairspray. Once it dries, I sometimes work some sections with a flat-iron, but rarely.

In the winter and when I work, I generally do more stuff with my hair, like flat-iron it, which can take anywhere from one to three hours depending on humidity, or wear it up or take care of my curls more.
m_pendulum 9th-Aug-2012 05:49 am (UTC)
Low maintenance now.

I have dreads and I do my own hair so every 2 weeks or...longer lol I retwist. It only takes me about 1hr, 1(1/2).
saywhatho 9th-Aug-2012 05:51 am (UTC)
Kinda High Maintenance. I'm mixed have i have cherry brown 3a/3b curly hair to my mid back, takes me 25-35 mins to straighten

Edited at 2012-08-09 05:52 am (UTC)
baglady25 9th-Aug-2012 06:00 am (UTC)
Depends on how I feel, really. I have curly, kind of thin hair, and sometimes I'll straighten it, which takes 20-30 minutes, or I'll just leave it natural. But the night before I wash it, I'll put coconut oil in it to help soften it
illapse 9th-Aug-2012 06:07 am (UTC)
high maintenance but i brung it upon myself!!

have it dyed half blue half purple and that shit needs dying repeatedly
ponpiri 9th-Aug-2012 06:08 am (UTC)
low maintenance. I have a teeny curly fro going on right now. Wet in the morning and apply a leave-in. Then spritz with a liquid leave in at night because it gets so dry int he summer. Wash whenever my scalp is itchy.
odd_fish_stick 9th-Aug-2012 06:16 am (UTC)
high maintenance. I have way too much hair, not to mention it's like half relaxed half natural down to my boobs so it takes a long time to detangle
trixielollipop 9th-Aug-2012 06:37 am (UTC)
Gosh, reading through this thread makes me so relieved to have naturally wavy, pretty thin hair with tons of natural volume.

My routine is way less fussy than almost anyone else in this thread. Except in the winter I need to add a lot more moisture.

I'm looking into how to do oil treatments though- I would like to make my hair more shiny.
kimberwyn 9th-Aug-2012 06:49 am (UTC)
Mine is medium maintenance (but probably high maintenance to wash and go types).

Mine is weaved and get it done every other week. She'll relax the edges like twice a year but I sweat it right out so there's no point and I probably won't bother anymore. I curl it anytime I'm going "out" or if I have a meeting or something like that; that takes like 15-20 mins.
asa_chan 9th-Aug-2012 06:58 am (UTC)
Same. Straight short Asian hair which grows fast. I have it coloured by my hair dresser.
sleeky 9th-Aug-2012 07:01 am (UTC)
Low maintence. I have boring, light brown, straight, not thick or thin white girl hair. It does nothing. In the winter I braid it and in the summer I am in a perma bun. Boring boring boring.
mingemonster 9th-Aug-2012 07:45 am (UTC)
My hair is very low maintenance because I just shave it off when it gets longer than a few inches or so lol

But when it gets longer, it's an asshole. It's straight, but tangles as soon as I move my head and always breaks and looks like shit regardless of what I do with it. And for some reason it refuses to stick in any style regardless of how much hair gel, spray and clips I use
cutesiness 9th-Aug-2012 09:06 am (UTC)
Low maintenance. I've got typical Asian hair although it's on the wavy side.
tobesurrounded 9th-Aug-2012 09:25 am (UTC)
Low maintenance. It's thick, straight, and light blonde. Never tangles, but never has volume unless i blow-dry it/put some product in it. if you have similar hair i really recommend RedKen 10 volume spray mousse since it's aweeeesome. my hair tends to get greasy really easily but I love it though because it's always soft and shiny lol.
winegums 9th-Aug-2012 11:01 am (UTC)
Mine is thick as fuck and high maintenance in its natural state (super wavy, frizz everywhere) if I want to bother getting the frizz out. It doesn't take heat treatments/flatironing too well, I have to be careful how often I do it or else it starts seeing broken hair/split ends.

I know relaxer is evil but I really liked how low-maintenance it made my hair, I barely had to comb it anymore and I could pretty much rise off the pillow after a nap and go out. But hair oil did help with reducing the breakage issues.
childish 9th-Aug-2012 11:45 am (UTC)
I'm black and I switched to natural a few years back and I've got shoulder length dreads now. It's kind of medium maintenence. I don't do anything to it daily, but washing and retwisting everything takes about 6 hours.
asha_greyjoy 9th-Aug-2012 02:02 pm (UTC)
absurdly high
im half black and keep my hair in a pixie. i usually straighten and its since its so short and natural it takes me like 1 1/2 hours to get all the way done.
ms_purpleturtle 9th-Aug-2012 02:13 pm (UTC)
Really low maintenance, I'm sporting the natural wave/bedhead look. It's cropped above the shoulders, I don't dye it and I only put product in it to make it a little bit messier when I'm going out of the house
yousaidlog 9th-Aug-2012 05:23 pm (UTC)
high maintenance. I have to get it chemically straightened (altho i haven't had it done in 3 1/2 years. i'm due), I dye it every five weeks, and whenever I wash it, I have to have my mom blowdry and straighten it for an hour.
joliebelle 9th-Aug-2012 06:12 pm (UTC)
I relax my hair about every 6 weeks
It takes me about 2 hours start to finish to wash, blow dry and flat iron my hair

Edited at 2012-08-09 06:13 pm (UTC)
leopard_legs 9th-Aug-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)
Very low maintenance. I hate my hair, truth be told. I have the most painfully white, European hair. It's just straight straight straight, fine but there's a lot of it and a light brown colour. I suppose it's quite good and my sister envies it (she has curly, quite difficult at times hair) and I get complimented on the colour, which is natural - I dyed it for all those bloody years, what was the point! It's shoulder length without a fringe and it's to my shoulders (like Fearne Cotton or Olivia Pallermo).

But the grass is always greener - I'd kill to have curls! My hair can't even hold one when I use a styler. When it was mid way down my back it took quite a lot of blow drying but now it's pretty snappy. I look much better with it shorter and it's so much quicker, and I'm lazy and ergo love that.
stellawuzadiver 9th-Aug-2012 11:56 pm (UTC)
I co-wash about once a week and spend all of my time in twists or some iteration of a twist-out. It'd be about bra-strap-length straight, but I don't bother with heat, so it's medium maintenance for ~two hours out of the week and then low maintenance for the remaining 166.
