Yesterday was a huge day for the people over at Marvel Studios. In addition to getting Joss Whedon to sign on to write and direct The Avengers 2, he is also now developing a new television series that will be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has also signed an exclusive three year contract with the studio to help them develop all of Marvel's projects between now and 2015. Now Warner Bros. is striking back with some big comic book movie news of their own.
According to Variety, Warners, which owns the rights to all DC Comics characters, is now looking at Ben Affleck as a possible candidate to direct their upcoming Justice League movie. The news comes a few weeks after Christopher Nolan announced that he would no longer be making any films involving Batman, even as a producer. Affleck, who has worked with WB on both The Town and the upcoming Argo, is expected to go in and speak with studio executives in the next couple days to discuss the possibility of helming the huge superhero project. He has already be sent the script for the film, which was written by Gangster Squad's Will Beall last summer.
While details about how the movie will function are still being kept under wraps, the comic book movie will bring together some of DC's most popular characters, including heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and more to help save the world. Variety suggests that there is some possibility that Affleck could take a role in the film for himself (he previously played the superhero Daredevil in the eponymous 2003 Mark Steven Johnson movie).
Who would you cast for thishot mess movie?

Not to mention everyone would compare it to The Avengers and it wouldn't be able to live up to that hype.
They won't have nearly enough time to pre-establish a full universe like Marvel's done, either (So no new Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman etc movies leading up to the League). This handful of massive characters are going to be plopped in front of us all at once and we'll have no time for development. The problem with DC is that they aren't the ones making their own movies; Warner Brothers is, and their main focus is box office revenue over quality or source material faithfulness.
But that said, yes, they're rushing the shit out of this to try to ride Avengers' coattails and it ain't gonna work.
Until 2016, everything DC does is invalid.
No, don't let Affleck touch it.
He's kryptonite to super-hero projects!
His version ( God forbid they give him the directing gig ) of this movie would be over the top kitschy.
disgusting.
but lol we all know this would mean he'd play batman
If anything, he should direct Daredevil.
The JLA team was flawless
Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Vixen, John GL, Hal GL, Wally West, Red Arrow, Red Tornado, Zatanna, Black Canary as the leader, Black Lightning, Hawkgirl, and Geo Force.
such a flawless team. the seriously made this line up because of the JLU.
Also Wally is my fave Flash...
Now and forever.
