According to somebody at TheOneRing.net, New Line has registered two potential titles for the brand-new third movie in the recently expanded Hobbit trilogy. Those two titles are...
• The Battle of Five Armies
• The Desolation of Smaug
Now, I have no idea about the trustworthiness of the tipper, so grain of salt, etc. etc., but these both sound pretty reasonable. I think The Battle of Five Armies has a much better ring to it than The Desolation of Smaug -- the latter of which doesn't particularly seem to go with An Unexpected Journey or There and Back Again. But this brings up a couple of questions. It's been a while since I read The Hobbit, but do you think Jackson is going to save Smaug for the third movie? Can he? What the fuck will happen in the second movie, then? Also, doesn't There and Back Again refer to Bilbo's heading out on his adventure, and then coming back to Bag's End? Where is he going to go "back again" to in the second movie, then? I'm not trying to be facetious for once, I honestly don't know. Is this a problem, or am I forgetting something?

the CATACLYSM of smaug
or did the author expand on that shit or st
Tolkien has a big world so I wasn't sure.
The Hobbit has always been Tolkien's lesser work when compared to LOTR. It could've been done in one film. Now we get 9 hours (+the inevitable extra HOURS of Extended Edition footage) of new films and New Line will end up making another 3 Billion in Box office sales off this.
I tell you, $$$ is the only reason its now a Trilogy.

The book sucked as it is and I could read the damned thing aloud in 9 hours.
Three hobbit movies.
The fucking book isn't even that long, how in the name of God is he going to drag it out over three films?
Oh my dear god...I have a real bad feeling now.
They should have only made two
I could live with that.
But smh at turning that tiny book into a trilogy.
Oh god.
