New Dragon Ball Film's TV Preview Aired



Preview of film aired during segment on Japanese morning TV program



The morning television program Mezamashi Terebi presented exclusive footage promoting the upcoming Dragon Ball Z film. The program broadcast an approximately 15-second preview of the adaptation of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga slated for a March 30 release.

The film will be directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director, Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun) at Toei and written by Yūsuke Watanabe (live-action 20th Century Boys trilogy, Gantz, Bloody Monday, Future Diary), with Tadayoshi Yamamuro (Dragon Ball Movie 4: The Path to Power, Beet the Vandel Buster) acting as the lead animation director.

In a comment printed alongside the announcement, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama notes that the adaptation will mark the first time he has been so deeply involved in the production of an anime, in this case as early as the screenwriting stages. Toriyama also says that the film will retain the atmosphere of the original while adding small amounts of "modern flavor."

I used to be obsessed with Trunks when they finally dubbed that part of the series for America. I still think he is the only decent character in the series.

I have no interest in Dragon Ball Z but Jesus Christ Future Diary is so god damn good so this is actually sort of interesting.

Because i think i'm one of the few people around who actually liked it and kinda hate everyone loves Z more than GT.

hmmm i like some things from GT - return of pilaf, shu and mai, pan, trip to space, android 18 getting her badass on again in the super 17 saga - but there's about a BILLION other things i fucking despise about it - goku as a kid again, baby taking over vegeta :/ amongst others.

Yes. :P Actually, did you read up on Dragonball Online? It's an online RPG that Akira Toriyama was heavily involved with, story-wise . . . he wrote out all the events that happen after the end of DBZ, spanning thousands of years, and funnily enough, he skipped over all GT events, lol. Shade.

I don't hate GT, but it's not my cup of tea. XD

First Hollywood and it reboots and now it is happening the anime. Sailormoon, whatever this is. :-/. Some series just have to end it starts to get to be too much (Power Rangers, Pokemon, DBZ, is Digimon still going too? You gi oh!).

Keep them classic, rebooting stuff and releasing stuff ten-twenty years after its first release....is just too long. I love anime because it has an ending, it isn't looney tunes. Some series just dont get that the stories should have a beginning and an end.

They need to stop. Have they not learned from when Kai flopped? The series has beaten, shot, and ran over too many times now and even hardcore stans are tired of Tori/Toei and their little friends butchering it. Let it go Tori/Toei let it go. =/

I personally hated Kai but some fans liked it because it was less filler and the dialogue was more accurate.

But I can never get enough DBZ .... NEVER!!!

I just wish they would stop making stories from the stupid Buu/GT nonsense.

They need to make a movie based on Another Road.

I liked Kai. Less filler, dialogue that made sense, quicker and more intense fights. It was good, I don't see what the problem is.
