Taylor Swift: Lunch with Conor Kennedy in upstate New York

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy, the 18-year-old son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, were photographed leaving Marcella’s Pizza in Mount Kisco on Wednesday (25 July). Earlier this month, they celebrated the Fourth of July together at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

It was a busy Wednesday for the pair. Swift made a quick trip to NYC to unveil her new album's lead single to radio bosses. Kennedy appeared in court to be named as one of two administrators of his mother's estate, estimated at nearly $2.1 million. Conor, whose full name is John Conor Kennedy, turned 18 on Tuesday and applied to be the administrator that afternoon. He said little during the hearing other than thanking the judge for wishing him a happy birthday.

Swift has denied recent reports that she is romantically linked to another member of the Kennedy clan: Patrick Schwarzenegger. "Patrick's a friend"

"I don't read any gossip about me, because I don't want to be weirded out by who people think I'm dating. I should just warn guys [who talk to me.]… 'This is what you can expect tomorrow on all these different blogs'."

as someone who's queer, it's not clear to me that she didn't mean to put down gay ppl

So go and tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy
That's fine I'll tell mine that you're gay!

sounds a lot like she's saying that being gay is worse than being obsessive and crazy

Okay.

I mean, I'm a big supporter for gay rights. So, don't think I'm not. But, people make mistakes when they're 15. Should she be judged her entire life because of one song that she even changed after it offended people? Since then she has expressed her support. Even in Mean, she had a "gay" character in a positive light.

I mean, I know it's ~cool to hate Taylor, but I just think this part is reaching.

+I thought she changed the lyric before the song was even made a single because it could have been taken as homophobic? Not because of complaints but i'm not sure, there was apparently an interview on it that i can't find.
I never found the lyrics to be homophobic, but I can see why people can take it like that... But shit... you know, Sure it needs to be pointed out but people waste a lot of time and energy on it and i'm like... there are worse people in the world.

Seriously.

That's just what immature people do when they break up with one another. It happened to my roommates; she was "crazy" according to her ex after they broke up (which was always true), and she called him "gay," which he isn't.

And then I stopped fraternizing with those people.

Those are just the names that would hurt the opposite sex the most. It's immature, but c'mon, she was 15.

I don't see any homophobia in those lyrics.

Exactly.
I'm not saying she wasn't being immature, but I just don't see it as being homophobic.

I totally agree with you. I think it's all in the way you read it. I'm having trouble with the homophobic theory though hahaha.
ritzyroxie 26th-Jul-2012 11:42 pm (UTC)
It's not a ~theory~, it's fact. She likened being obsessive and crazy to being Gay. That means she thinks all Gay people are emotionally unhinged. That's homophobic thinking.
Alar Truve 26th-Jul-2012 11:51 pm (UTC)
For fucks sake maybe she just wanted to say he is gay so her friends would not date him? Not that hard to grasp. That is what happens when teenagers break up. They act immature.

There is nothing homophobic about it.
bbggoodd 26th-Jul-2012 11:53 pm (UTC)
Thank you.

I think people are reading farrrr too deeply into this.
ritzyroxie 26th-Jul-2012 11:56 pm (UTC)
And facebook commenters strike again.
manicure 26th-Jul-2012 11:53 pm (UTC)
That's a reach for me, but I respect your opinion :)
bbggoodd 26th-Jul-2012 11:56 pm (UTC)
I really think this is super reaching. Like goddamn. She says one comment, and she thinks ALL gay people are emotionally unhinged?
But whatever. I'm sorry you were offended by it.
