Lady Gaga Reigns Supreme with a Top Earning Female Tour of 2012!


Pollstar has just released their official Top 50 Worldwide Tours Ranking for the first half of 2012, with Lady Gaga leading on the female front. She ranks at #5 overall, without even landing in Europe/North America/South America yet!

The Born This Way Ball is on track to be one of the highest grossing tours of all time, and comes off of the highest selling American album of 2011, Born This Way. The album also produced three multi-platinum hit singles in the US.

The tour sold out every single show in its an Asian leg, a feat not reached by a Western act in years.

I don't know how long you had to look to find this article, because I've seen 10+ talking about tours and they're all talking about the absolutely filthy pile of money Madonna's looking to dive into at the end of her tour (with Gaga in second place).

Madonna started her tour not even two months ago, so that could be why. Most of the others started earlier.

yeah the fact that it's the first half only I think influences it. I haven't had a chance to look at ticket sales though, which I think is more interesting, because it's not hard for Madonna to break records since she broke my wallet for a ticket. </3

I think Gaga will outgross the MDNA Tour when it's all said and done, but that will be later on because Gaga only starts her US leg of the tour in 2013 and Madonnas tour ends in 2012.

However, this chart isn't lying.

Gaga sold 494,000 tickets and made 6,1 million dollars.
Madonna sold 351,560 tickets and made 4,6 million dollars.

Even though I'm not a big fan of MX, I'm still looking forward to seeing them next month. They always have so much energy and the light-up wristbands they're handing out at their shows look awesome.
