So..Finding Nemo 2 is happening

Writer/director Andrew Stanton has been behind some of the very best films in Pixar’s repertoire (and that’s saying something). He co-wrote Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, and Monsters Inc., and he wrote and directed the magnificent one-two punch of Finding Nemo and Wall-E. Stanton made his live-action debut earlier this year with the criminally underseen sci-fi epic John Carter, and now it looks like he’ll be returning to Pixar for his next feature, Finding Nemo 2. Hit the jump for more.

Thoughts..Excited, not excited? I love the first one, not sure how a second one would work tbh. John Carter disastuh aside, his Pixar work is flaw free

Watch yourself, Pixar.
kindafunnysad 17th-Jul-2012 07:20 pm (UTC)
Dory + Ellen made that movie so they better have a major part in this one too.
demonsandsongs 17th-Jul-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
make a bagillion cars, finding nemos, and monsters inc sequels just don't touch Wall-e.

You could re-do Up though cuz that movie is a snore past the first 40 minutes.

Omg a WALL-E sequel would be terrible. (It's my favorite Pixar movie.) IDEK how they'd make one. The end credits summed everything up for the next hundred years.
demonsandsongs 17th-Jul-2012 07:51 pm (UTC)
It's one of my favourite movies ever. I don't even know what I'd do.
milkradio 18th-Jul-2012 12:07 am (UTC)
The end credits were perfection, omfg :')
spoiled_water 17th-Jul-2012 07:24 pm (UTC)
NOOOOOOOOO! LEAVE FINDING NEMO ALONE!!!!!!

spoiled_water 17th-Jul-2012 07:27 pm (UTC)
Also, I'm hearing rumblings of "The Incredibles 2". Stop fucking with perfect shit just because you're running out of ideas, Pixar!
onceupon_awish 17th-Jul-2012 07:38 pm (UTC)
At least a The Incredibles sequel would make sense instead of Finding Nemo. Like, seriously, why would Nemo get lost again ffs. It's like he didn't learn his lesson or wtv.

About time more people started being skeptical of Pixar...

That's a pretty damn good one and I love it, but I don't agree.
heart_of_butter 21st-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
ITA- their most adult, well-written, and true to life movie they've ever made. It is truly free of flaws.

i'm not gonna get too excited until we get an official confirmation (which could be years) but i can get behind this if pixar believes they have a story worth telling. that was their reasoning for toy story 2 & 3 after all. people hating solely because it's another sequel can kindly gtfo though; must i remind you pixar nearly lost the rights to all their pre-cars properties and disney was working on several craptacular sequels without their involvement. yeah they've always said they weren't big on sequels, but i'm sure once their characters were safe in their hands again it got them interested in making their own follow-ups worthy of the originals.
theactualworst 17th-Jul-2012 07:32 pm (UTC)
I don't hate the idea but the first one was just so perfect.
demonsandsongs 17th-Jul-2012 07:32 pm (UTC)
Pixar: sequels are meant for dreamworks and fox. Don't become Shrek, Madagascar, and Ice Age. For the love of god if you must do more with the characters send the work to Pixar Canada and have them continue working on special shorts that you could release before your other films.

Make one original short and then one toy story or finding nemo short idk just stop revisiting your past work.

What's going to be the story for the sequel? =/
im_chris_hansen 18th-Jul-2012 05:58 pm (UTC)
you didn't read the script yet? it's been floating around online for a week now
eaglefan2011 17th-Jul-2012 07:32 pm (UTC)
I love finding nemo
im_a_lewser 17th-Jul-2012 07:33 pm (UTC)
i'm dying to know what ellen's reaction to this is.

this is one of my favorite disney/pixar movies so i'm not sure how to feel about it. i mean i loved how the sequels to toy story turned out so hopefully waiting all this time and working on it has paid off.
sweetemerald513 17th-Jul-2012 07:35 pm (UTC)
I loved Finding Nemo. I'm not too sure about a sequel, but we'll see how it goes. It might be pretty awesome.
fabi_lizzie 17th-Jul-2012 07:35 pm (UTC)
The same was said with Home Alone 2, how could they forgot their son again? and it worked lol
