Adele once stole Katy Perry’s burrito and empty theaters for POM 3D

Katy Perry has sensationally revealed that Adele once stole her burrito.

Talking to Capital FM at the premiere of her cruelly ignored new film*, she explained: “She came and saw one of my shows really early on when I played this small venue…And she came backstage and I was eating a burrito.”

“She was like ‘a burrito – where’d you get that burrito in England, where did you get Mexican food’, and she took it.”

Oh dear.

Still, whether Adele is a burrito thief (STILL NOT A EUPHEMISM) or not, Perry’s happy she’s having a baby. “That’s so cute of her,” was Perry’s assessment of the whole pregnancy scenario. “She’s such a good woman.”

* Yes apparently Katy Perry really does have a film out!

empty theaters??

I've always wanted to watch a movie in a totally empty theater.
ms_mmelissa 12th-Jul-2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
I have once. It was just my friend and I and we talked over the whole thing, switched seats and wandered around the aisles when we got bored.
sandstorm 12th-Jul-2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
Same here!

To be honest, I'm kind of banking on it after TDKR comes out that a ton of them will be empty or nearly.
pistol_eyes 12th-Jul-2012 10:59 pm (UTC)
I was planning on during the same for TDKR
oceanhue 12th-Jul-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)
Indie movies are always pretty empty. It's awesome tbh
lilo146 12th-Jul-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)
i did once, it was a scary movie, i dont remember the name, but it was baaaaad.
violue 12th-Jul-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)
i have :D

well i mean my friend was there

but we were the only ones

I enjoyed that
lucciolaa 12th-Jul-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)
I sort of did. It was Kingdom of Heaven and it was me, my friend, and this one random man two rows ahead of us, and this is when we were 13 in the height of our Orlando Bloom obsession, so we just had freak outs every time he was on screen and I'm pretty sure the guy wanted to throttle us.
shadyoutkast 12th-Jul-2012 10:23 pm (UTC)
I watched Drive in a theater with four other people. it was like i was watching home alone.
vivisexion 12th-Jul-2012 10:23 pm (UTC)
it's the best! you and your friends can make fun of the movie out loud
drunkagron 12th-Jul-2012 10:23 pm (UTC)
I always wait weeks after a movie comes out. The theater's empty because everyone's seeing the new movies. It's awesome.
alohomora 12th-Jul-2012 10:24 pm (UTC)
me and my friends went to see seabiscuit when it came out when we were like 9/10 and the cinema was empty.
starlysh 12th-Jul-2012 10:24 pm (UTC)
My friend and I went to see Baby Mama at like 2 pm on a school/work day and there was no one. It was awesome.
williexwhip 12th-Jul-2012 10:25 pm (UTC)
The cheap theater we go to is almost always empty or close to it. People would rather spend more to sit in a crowded theater and pay twice the price for snacks. More for me.
vehiclesshockme 12th-Jul-2012 10:25 pm (UTC)
It's an interesting experience!

Although some movies just need to be seen in a totally packed house in my opinion.
hannahgrace456 12th-Jul-2012 10:26 pm (UTC)
Me too! I think I'm gonna go to a late showing of Part of Me on a weeknight.

of_silver 12th-Jul-2012 10:31 pm (UTC)
My bf and I saw Battleship in IMAX by ourselves. It was an especially good movie for that because we could make fun of it the whole time.
desi_kudi728 12th-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
i've done it with just me and a friend. it was great...laughed and talked and shouted at the characters on screen. :D
jearsforqueers 12th-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
my mother, brother and I all went to see brokeback mountain and we were the only people under the age of 60 in there. so basically it was dead silence, because i figured all the older people died from heart attacks when the realized it was a movie about two cowboys in love and not a typical western from their younger years.
ch33rylips 12th-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
I have with my aunt and cousins it was fun as fuck.
statelines 12th-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
I saw a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie with just me and my friend in the theater.

There was also another time I was watching a aimed at teen girls movie where my friend and I were the only people in the theater with a 40+ year old man. He sat right in front of us. We really didn't think we were going to make it out alive.
post_dada 12th-Jul-2012 10:33 pm (UTC)
I have and thank god. It was a horror movie, and my friend was yelling at the screen.
anus 12th-Jul-2012 10:36 pm (UTC)
I went on a date and it was like that. Made everything so much more fun because we could talk and do whatever the fuck we wanted
wasster 12th-Jul-2012 10:37 pm (UTC)
Me and my friends got one once. We raced down the cinema over seats.

I feel like it was a Lindsey Lohan film...

rlmoonyk 12th-Jul-2012 10:39 pm (UTC)
I almost did when I saw Watchmen for the second time(like a few weeks after it came out) then a couple came in and I felt awkward lol
kyoumei 12th-Jul-2012 10:39 pm (UTC)
I've done it quite a few times. It's more fun with a couple friends because then you can say whatever you want during the movie and not worry about disturbing people.
sonadoras456 12th-Jul-2012 10:41 pm (UTC)
I sat and watched Black Swan in a totally empty theater (sat in the very middle of stadium seating with no one in front of me and two people in the back on opening day at noon)...it was the most riveting experience.
aisling_ducks 12th-Jul-2012 10:42 pm (UTC)
I have. I was on my own once though so felt reallly awkward the entire time.

With friends is a good laugh 'cos you can talk/analyse the movie as it's going along in a louder voice without annoying anyone.
_underwhelmed 12th-Jul-2012 10:43 pm (UTC)
i have many times, but i used to work at a movie theatre...that would eventually close down. coincidence?
putyohandsonme 12th-Jul-2012 10:44 pm (UTC)
I love it, I went and saw House Bunny at like 1pm and I was the only one in there, the only problem was the movie started skipping so I had to go out and get them to fix it, the other time I was in an almost empty theater was for The Bodyguard one night only thing a couple months ago it was me and another lady and the movie never started so I had to get someone again and we could hear the dude making fun of the movie ugh lol.
howlcosmiclove 12th-Jul-2012 10:46 pm (UTC)
Same here.
jinxeh13 12th-Jul-2012 10:47 pm (UTC)

it's very awkward, actually
swim_thedepths 12th-Jul-2012 10:47 pm (UTC)
I've seen a few movies in an empty theatre, tbh. I never took advantage of it, tho. Except for being extra loud and obnoxious with friends while we stayed in our seats lol
ladyaucifer 12th-Jul-2012 10:49 pm (UTC)
Not a movie, but once my family was at Disneyland and we went to Bear Country just before it closed down. The man at the door insisted that we had to hurry because the show was about to start.

We got in, and the theater was completely empty.
snortingcoke 12th-Jul-2012 10:51 pm (UTC)
i saw a movie by my myself and there was only one other person there by their self too, so we were both sitting in opposite ends of the theater like "well...."
zigzagzap 12th-Jul-2012 10:55 pm (UTC)
My bf and I watched The Artist in an empty theater. It was so nice.
bresson 12th-Jul-2012 10:57 pm (UTC)
I think it was empty when I saw 17 again but I took some oxy so I don't remember it either way
beaddddddsss 12th-Jul-2012 10:57 pm (UTC)
YES, YES, YES. That's why I always go by myself early in the morning on weekdays. Idoncurr, I prefer the quietness. Second on the list is watching a film with old people because they mostly stay silent.

Sometimes even my friends annoy the shit out of me in the movies because I'm there for the film and yet people talk, whisper commentary, or ask questions and I'm all, "FUCK YOUR SOCIAL CONVENTIONS, BITCH, THE MOVIE IS PLAYING" in my head but no one cares. I'm too nice to actually tell anyone off, but I loathe talkers and coughing (DON'T BRING THE MOTHERFUCKING PLAGUE WITH YOU TO THE MOVIE THEATER, SON, THAT'S WHAT CONTAGION SHOULDA TAUGHT YOU) and babies crying in my theater? Laaaaawd. /this has been a rant
deadendqueen16 12th-Jul-2012 11:02 pm (UTC)
My friend and I went to see Dude Where's My Car at the dollar theater when we were kids, and it was totally empty except for us. It was fun as hell, tbqh.

klmnumbers 12th-Jul-2012 11:26 pm (UTC)
When I saw Hairspray, the theatre was empty. At the end of the movie when they reprised You Can Stop the Beat, my friend and I literally just danced.
gimmer05 12th-Jul-2012 11:27 pm (UTC)
My friend and I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D in an empty theater. We talked the whole time and I sang with Belle. It was glorious.

I also love the drive-in because me and the husband can talk non stop. We can bring the baby. AND it's 2 movies for $7.
executed_blonde 12th-Jul-2012 11:28 pm (UTC)
My girlfriend and I went to a Tuesday evening showing of SWATH and it was an empty theatre...

We also went to see True Grit when it was still in theatres. That shit was horrible. No wonder the theatre was empty.
glittersecrecy 12th-Jul-2012 11:33 pm (UTC)
I watched the social network in an empty theater and hollered every time andrew came on screen.
floristry 12th-Jul-2012 11:38 pm (UTC)
When I saw Ferngully: The Last Rainforest there was nobody in the cinema but me and my mum, lolol. I remember being amazed that they bothered showing it just for us.

Saw "The Mist" in a empty theater. It was me and my 2 friends, and this couple in the corner on a date. Halfway through, me and one of my friends start heckling and making fun of the movie, with the couple in back joining too. It was awesome.

It's fun! I went to see Robots and me and my friend were the only ones there. We had been the pub before and it was the late showing... we both ended up falling asleep through the film. So yeah, maybe not that good, lol. We did have a ball before we dozed off though.
spillvegas 13th-Jul-2012 12:18 am (UTC)
lol i sat in a completely empty theater by myself for the Hunger Games like 2 months after it came out. it was really awk. the 16 year old usher guy kept coming in to check on me. i felt like such a loser it was like 2pm on a wednesday
arielcharming 13th-Jul-2012 12:30 am (UTC)
My dad used to take us to the movies and let us all see what we wanted. I saw Excess Baggage in an empty theater and it was awesome.
solestella 13th-Jul-2012 12:38 am (UTC)
I did twice. It's really awesome having a whole theather to yourselves. You can talk, be silly and not bother anybody. And the best part, no fucking annoying people kicking your chair or bending too far back and hitting your knees.

deadpresident 13th-Jul-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
the only time this has ever happened was with The Mothman Prophecies; me and my family were the only people inside the theater beside this guy who was sitting two rows in front of us. he was wearing Unabomber aviators inside the fucking theater and taxed the fuck out out of my peripheral vision cause i was watching him and the screen
foryoursake08 13th-Jul-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
I got to see The Avengers, Thor, Scream 4, and The Hunger Games in empty theatres. PERFECTION.
girl_vsmachine 13th-Jul-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
I have with a guy when we went to watch that Abraham Lincoln Vampire in 3D. We sat in the back row and the usher kept coming in every 15-20 minutes and just standing there watching us. Super awkward. The last 20 minutes some random guy comes in, walks all the way to the back row, squeezes past us and goes to sit further down. So weird

It was nice though!

I saw the Last Exorcism and Good Hair in an empty theatre.
sergeantquakers 13th-Jul-2012 01:28 am (UTC)

Over Christmas break (toward the end), I watched the first harry potter movie in an empty theatre! i was so happy, too, because I had my 2-year-old & 3-year-old siblings.

wow that was a long time ago.
pamelalillian 13th-Jul-2012 03:15 am (UTC)
it is awesome
xathenex 13th-Jul-2012 03:24 am (UTC)
A looong time ago, me and two friends went to see Hamlet 2 (I know, right?) and the fact that we were the only people in the theater was the only thing that made it a fun experince. That movie was awful, but it was fun being as obnoxious about it and we wanted.
nationalboner 13th-Jul-2012 03:26 am (UTC)
I've never seen one in a completely empty theatre, but I've frequently been one of >10 people.
expromqueen 13th-Jul-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
i do it often! mid-day on a weekday usually works for me haha...even if three or four ppl stroll in, it still feels like the movie is just for me ;D

I went to see Mean Girls when it came out and it was EMPTY (a crime, I fucking know, and it did well in the UK might I add) so me and my mates just mucked about doing cartwheels and stuff until about 40 minutes in someone came in on their own :|

I got to do that once, and it was awesome. I can't remember which movie it was, though.

So much fun.
pleiades829 13th-Jul-2012 02:21 pm (UTC)
Take a long lunch break and catch a matinee, ideally not in the summer. Make it a movie that's been out awhile and it's practically guaranteed!
iantoj 13th-Jul-2012 04:05 pm (UTC)
I went to a 25th Anniversary screening of Back To The Future by myself because no one would come. Turns out no one ever wanted to come because I was in there totally alone.
lovemail321 13th-Jul-2012 04:51 pm (UTC)
Some of my friends and I saw X-men: First Class in an empty theater and the whole time we just made side commentary about how everybody in the movie secretly just wanted to fuck each other. That was an awesome night.
fwee_prower 13th-Jul-2012 06:19 pm (UTC)
I've always wanted to fuck in a totally empty Theater.

i've gotten a hand job in a semi empty theater but it's not the same.
lolzerz 13th-Jul-2012 08:17 pm (UTC)

brianistuft 12th-Jul-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
Poor Katy, the movie is actually really great. I just think people are tired of her. She's been in our faces, n our radios and everywhere else for two years straight with no break. You've over saturated your audience, KP.
jmonkey3152 12th-Jul-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)
Really? Due to oversaturation? I just assumed she wasn't popular/famous enough to warrant a movie. Bieber's movie did well but he has a crazed fan base, and his star was on the rise during the time. I don't think Katy will ever reach Bieber's fame.
brianistuft 12th-Jul-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
A lot of people I know who love her skipped it because they saw the tour and felt like they could wait for the candid video interviews and stuff. The tour was like 6 months ago you figure. I think waiting a while would have helped.
aliminx 12th-Jul-2012 10:55 pm (UTC)
I just assumed she wasn't popular/famous enough to warrant a movie.

Fucking THIS.
vehiclesshockme 12th-Jul-2012 10:27 pm (UTC)
I think it not doing well is in part due to the majority of her fans aren't as rabid as Bieber's or as Miley's were when her film released. Plus the timing for it is pretty awful. How was opening against Spider-Man a good idea?
cityxpretty 12th-Jul-2012 11:02 pm (UTC)
I think she's more of an artist that you like a few songs from and will listen to in the car, but you don't care enough to really follow her.
scheisse 12th-Jul-2012 11:48 pm (UTC)
Nah, I think people love her, just not enough to go see a movie about her. No artist who has only been around for five years and has sold less than 12m albums WW needs to have a movie documenting their life and "struggle". It's just uninteresting.
wristtattoos 12th-Jul-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
and who cares?
oceanhue 12th-Jul-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
LOL so it's like Adele is Regina and Katy is the loser. Bitch, it's your fault for letting her take yo food. RME
brenden 12th-Jul-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
i would totally see the katy perry movie if it was in an empty theater
