Casting news: Simon (from the Tumblr of Cassandra Clare)

So remember when I said we wouldn’t have a Simon till July for Reasons?

The Reasons were that the actors up for Simon had to test with Jamie and Lily in Toronto to see how the chemistry worked. When I talked to Jamie and Lily yesterday it was about who we thought was the absolute best, the most Simon-y Simon, and fortunately we all agreed.

Y’all know I am a big Misfits fan, so you should not be surprised to know that I’m ecstatic that our Simon is:

Robert Sheehan. You may know him as Nathan. :) 

He’s totally cute and adorable and HILARIOUS, and his chemistry with Lily and Jamie is off the charts. I’ve wanted him for Simon for ages so I am pretty much totally and entirely happy.

Also you should all watch Misfits.

How cute is he?!!!!


Is this a step up for him? I liked Misfits which is the only reason this caught my attention.  Is the Mortal Instruments still relevant? I feel like they've been trying to make that movie happen forever.

ETA: For anyone who's confused (there seem to be a couple), this casting is regarding the upcoming film series "The Mortal Instruments" based on the YA novel series of the same name by author Cassandra Clare.

That movie was actually surprisingly suspenseful. I went expecting a Nic Cage shitfest and it legit creeped me out a few times. But I guess the plague has that effect on me.

eek this movie/series seems like a mess. he should run away as fast as he can

tumblr couldn't stop crying once clare crushed their hopes of logan being cast in the role (which would have never happened anyway)

it would have never happened though bc he won't do another franchise as long as percy jackson is still around, plus he has shown no interest in it. it was just cassandra clare and her stans wanting him for the role so it was realistic in the first place yet they were crying all over his tumblr tag about it the other day lmao
