'Once Upon a Time' season two to introduce Aladdin, Jafar, Ariel

Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have revealed which fairy tale characters will appear in season two.

The ABC fantasy drama will introduce a version of The Little Mermaid's Ariel, as well as both the title character and the villainous Jafar from Aladdin, according to TV Guide.

Series star Lana Parrilla (Regina Mills / the Evil Queen) recently told Digital Spy that she wanted season two of Once Upon a Time to introduce characters from The Little Mermaid.

Horowitz and Kitsis also confirmed that they are eager to cast Lost actor Jorge Garcia on the show.

Garcia previously starred in Fox sci-fi drama Alcatraz, but the series was axed following a single season in May.

Once Upon a Time will return this fall on Sundays at 8/7c on ABC. In the UK, the series airs on Channel 5.

I've been trying to think of actresses that would be good as Ariel. Someone on tumblr suggested either Deborah Ann Woll, Candice Bailey, or Felicia Day, and also Naveen Andrews as Aladdin.

I don't think so. He's the Magic Mirror from Snow White. He probably was just another genie, rather than Genie from Aladdin.

He did come out of a lamp...

True, but if he was Genie wouldn't he already be free?

I don't know, I get confused between the fairy tale versions and the Disney and the stuff they just make up.

He said when he came out of the lamp that he was the Genie of Agrabah. So he is that genie.

He did? Then how does Aladdin fit in now? LOL. I guess we figure that late.
mhfromnh 9th-Jul-2012 11:33 pm (UTC)
he was a genie who became The Mirror.

I'm pretty sure Sydney was just A genie and not THE genie. Maybe like genies are a sort of "ethnicity" in the fairy tale world. They went that route with the dwarves and fairies. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense for him to be Aladdin's genie.

(copy paste) He said when he came out of the lamp that he was the Genie of Agrabah. So he is that genie.

True, but what I was thinking is that Agrabah is just where all genies are from or something. I mean, they could go that route to get out of casting someone new, but Sydney being the genie from Aladdin would make it so Aladdin never freed him and that changes Aladdin's character into a d-bag. Hahaha. I think about this way too much.
