(Formerly titled "Predisposed") The first trailer has arrived for the dramatic comedy Why Stop Now, directed by Ron Nyswaner and Phil Dorling. Jesse Eisenberg stars as Eli Smith, a piano prodigy who is trying to get his mother (Melissa Leo) into rehab, and seeks the help of her drug dealer (Tracy Morgan), on the day of his big audition. Take a look at the first footage from this upcoming indie.

Why Stop Now is the story of Eli Smith (Jesse Eisenberg), a piano prodigy, dealing with his troubled mother, Penny (Melissa Leo), and enlisting help from a hapless drug dealer, Sprinkles (Tracy Morgan), on the day he has an audition for a prestigious music program. Events spiral comically out of control as this gang of misfits faces the mistakes of the past, the challenges of the future, and the possibilities of love.

Why Stop Now comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Melissa Leo, Tracy Morgan, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Sarah Ramos, Emma Rayne Lyle, Stephanie March, Tanya Wright. The film is directed by Ron Nyswaner.

Happy 4th of July, American ONTDers! I still don't understand why trailers have to be over 2 minutes long since I feel like I've seen the whole movie, but I think it looks good!

man, i never come into jesse posts. he's the only actor i stan hard enough to have a hard time seeing negative comments, lol @ me

but whatevs. i'm not sure how i feel about the movie, but i love him playing a piano player!

i totally feel you, lol. it's hard to read the negatives b/c he'd probably take them personally and he's already a self-hating person. i post him because he never gets exposure and even though people are tired of him, i still think he's a good actor (and i love basically all his interviews, so).

oh girl, i totally hear you. i think he's a really good actor. and it's the comments that, like, liken him to michael cera and call him a flop that get under my skin, lmao. i come to ontd for random celeb gossip, not to see things about my faves!

but i'm glad you posted this, i like the times when he gets some love. :)

I guess they are saying that unless she tests positive, she doesn't qualify for treatment? I don't know what kind of rehab facility would have such a policy though.

yeah, to be admitted, i guess you have to have a certain level of drug content in you? there was an article about that from the directors; it was something that he witnessed when volunteering in a rehab center.

i'm trying to find the article and i can't right now :(

this actually looks interesting. especially since i feel like he's not playing the same character as he's played before. the awkwardness level seems significantly lower, and he's not doing the stuttering thing. i'd probably watch it no matter what cause i love him, but it seems cool.
