xvic3 4th-Jul-2012 02:47 pm (UTC)
Just kidding about da special ed kids man. I was in special ed day said I had anger issues lol

The hell?
Yeah, no kidding idiot. By the way you type, it sounds you are in special ed for more than one reason...not just anger issues.

Hmm...I have special needs, I wonder if that means I shouldn't follow him? -_- I kinda want to tweet him and ask that...

You do realize how extremely counter productive this statement is, right?

It's hard to tell by looking at someone whether they have autism, well, except for my son who cannot do a real smile for the life of him. I used to say "Oh, he's got autism-face in his school picture again..." but I've stopped saying that because it's really insensitive and it's just mean and dumb.
daninekintscher 4th-Jul-2012 02:51 pm (UTC)
I should clarify, he does have autism. I wasn't saying that for nothing, but even so, I have learned a lot about autism and I no longer hate the fuck out of it. I'm learning to deal with it and I think my son and me have a pretty great relationship. He's awesome and really handsome and autistic as hell and that's ok.

I know what you are saying. I reconize other kids with autism because of certain quirks and movements (hand flapping for example) for the longest time I didn't see that my son had autism even though he was diagnosed. Then one day, I took him to a fundraiser and there were many kids with autism acting like my son does. That's when it sank in.

This happened to me once at a yard sale once. The lady there saw me looking at clothes and said to my dad "Your daughter has Asperger's right?" and I was like "WTF how did you know that????" Apparently the eye contact thing is really obvious.

And good on you for being a badass parent. I know my mom went through a lot to get my sister and I help, and I have so much respect for her for accepting us and not doing that Jenny McCarthy bullshit.
staceysimgirl 4th-Jul-2012 03:02 pm (UTC)
This year was the first year where we had a sort of regular smile in school pics for my son. (He's 8, with autism.) So I know exactly what you mean.
sitakhet 4th-Jul-2012 03:14 pm (UTC)
My sister is severely autistic and did not do well with pictures when she was young - I think it was the flash that she didn't like. In a lot of her school pictures she looks like she's cringing. It got much better with time, now she actually looks genuinely happy in pictures, but she's also medicated now, so who knows what actually made a difference*.

i feel really bad for laughing at "autism face" omg /)__(\
hugsroverated 4th-Jul-2012 09:48 pm (UTC)
My son has the biggest smile 24/7 but I know what you mean, sometimes he just has the face. I'm still in the place were I hate the hell out of it, so I give you complete props. My sons almost 3 though, so maybe it comes with time? Yesterday his speech therapist told us she doesn't believe he'll ever talk, so it doesn't look positive.
chantonii 5th-Jul-2012 04:33 am (UTC)
My brother cannot do a real smile in photos either. He does this sort of grimace and holds his hands up like Skippy.
raquettes 4th-Jul-2012 02:48 pm (UTC)
I'm not surprised ... it's 50 cent after all.
winonaforever 4th-Jul-2012 02:49 pm (UTC)
Everytime 50 is on the news, it's because he's being douchey. Over it.
misterscribbs 4th-Jul-2012 02:50 pm (UTC)
People like him serve no good in the world.
courtney_77 4th-Jul-2012 02:55 pm (UTC)
Anything 50 Cent says is immediately irrelevant. What a moron.
nalty7 4th-Jul-2012 02:56 pm (UTC)
Why do I feel that he confuses autism with Down syndrome.
His tweets show his ignorance.
anitakkkat 4th-Jul-2012 02:59 pm (UTC)
He should just delete his account before he makes more stupid comments.
Is that last tweet supposed to be an apology or something?
oh7 4th-Jul-2012 03:01 pm (UTC)
50 still isn't being political correct I see
kampfbaby 4th-Jul-2012 03:32 pm (UTC)

I've only ever really seen it before on LJ.
yummyhead2toe 4th-Jul-2012 03:54 pm (UTC)
People say: "That's retarded." on the daily.

I find that offensive.
queenweasley 4th-Jul-2012 06:09 pm (UTC)
I work adults with disabilities and one of my coworkers was on the phone with someone the other day telling that person, "That's retarded." Over and over and over again. While one of our clients was in the room! Luckily that client wasn't paying attention. I finally had to tell my coworker, "Um, you shouldn't be saying that word right now..."
sevenbeat 4th-Jul-2012 04:16 pm (UTC)
My roommate said it to my other roommate over facebook (you look autistic) and I thought that was the dumbest thing I ever seen/read.

Then my other roommate believed she looked autistic and I told her that's dumb because autism doesn't have a look...
age_of_green 4th-Jul-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
The only places I've seen it are twitter and 4chan. So no where with any intelligence.
ivysaur 5th-Jul-2012 12:20 am (UTC)
I've seen it before, unfortunately.

pink_dog 4th-Jul-2012 03:17 pm (UTC)
