Beyoncé PISSED Over Lauryn Hill Diss at BET Awards

Beyoncé wasn't laughing when a boy band DISSED Lauryn Hill at last night's BET Awards ... in fact, Bey was so upset, she changed her acceptance speech (on the fly) to HONOR the former Fugee.

So let's start with The Diss -- Comedian Mike Epps and the group Mindless Behavior were co-presenting the award for Best R&B Artist when Mike jokingly tried to sing.

One of the members of the group quipped, "You sing BAD ... like Lauryn Hill's tax accountant bad."

The diss drew gasps from the crowd ... and pissed off Beyonce, who ultimately WON the award that was being presented.

lol this is nowhere near as dramatic as tmz is making it out to be although (and i know they don't write the script themselves) mindless behaviour looks ignorant dissing someone whose career has seen success theirs never will. whatever, in time they shall be scalpedT.

yes as i said "they don't write the script themselves." but they get their lines early in the day to run through and between the four of them + mike epps + their respective handlers someone could/should have said "this joke is not funny."

It was a bad joke and I'm glad that Bey addressed it in her own way with the acceptance speech.

Slightly OT but I'm still not over the Whitney tribute. Many tears were shed and many tissues were used.

Probably the fact that they're radically different. I'm not defending Lauren's actions but her crime was not paying taxes for 3 years, ostensibly because she was underground and got rid of all the people she couldn't trust. Wesley didn't file for 6 years, filed false amended returns, filed two false tax refund claims for $4 million and $7 million respectively, tried to use the 861 argument, tried to pay the IRS with 3 fake bills of exchange and then, when that didn't work, tried to claim he was a non-resident alien even though he was born in fucking Orlando, FL. That's a whole new ball game.

It's not that the joke was unnecessary but it was unnecessary coming from them. I doubt they are even old enough to have experienced the impact when Lauryn released her solo CD so it just made that whole joke seem all the more forced and staged. And you just know no other celeb would have went along with that joke so the writers gave it to the only people who are too young to know better. In other words screw BET

Bey handled it with such class and with a smile like a true DIVA.

Everyone here is hating on her for being nice about someone she respects but if they'd caught her smiling at the joke you'd all be tearing her to pieces. ONTD in general can be so pathetic and desperate when it comes to Bey.

Seriously. I don't know what the people saying this is "in bad taste" are smoking. Obviously releasing an influential album 15 years ago means you should be exempt from people criticising you for not paying your taxes (while being a millionaire). I'd like to see the reaction to other millionaires being caught for tax evasion...
