Ten fake books in movies that we wish we could read

Suzy Bishop’s books in Moonrise Kingdom

Suzy Bishop is a girl after our own hearts — when running away, she brought only the essentials: a suitcase packed to the brim with her favorite books. Though she reads from a few of them — YA novels with strong female leads all — we couldn’t get enough. At least we have these animated excerpts to tide us over until some intrepid young author fleshes them out for us.

The Waverley Prep books sound exactly like the kind of awesome trashy books I would have loved when I was 13.

I would add The Help written by Skeeter (Emma Watson) in The Help. It would be so interesting to read those stories from black women working for white families.

You mean Emma Stone, bb?
mel_y_kay 29th-Jun-2012 01:53 pm (UTC)
Yep. Damn, I can't believe I called her that. I know the difference! Must have been vagueing out. Or maybe I read something about HP and my brain got confused. LOL.

Not from a movie, but lord I would love to read An Imperial Affliction from The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. It apparently ends midsentence and it would frustrate the hell out of me, but I would love it. Jesus.

not a movie but i would kill for "Sterling's Gold" the audiobook by Roger Sterling of Mad Men. I could die happy after reading that.

nevermind, it is a book you can buy, just not in audiobook form

Ugh I wish JK was more of a money whore. Or like he recession hit her hard lmao because she doesn't have to write a thing again in her life but there is sooo much from HP she could've expanded on and never did.

Mmmhmmm! I totally agree! I would love a book on the Marauders-era and one specifically about Voldemort's life!
slaughtermatic 29th-Jun-2012 09:09 pm (UTC)
Lmao actually I would want none of those. I'd love little detail books like their class literature -- I'd LOVE to read Gilderoy's actual book series. Voldemort's been done and the Marauders were dicks tbh.
