Chris Hemsworth Plays Down Importance of Physique in Hollywood Success

Chris Hemsworth has played down the importance of his physique in landing him movie roles.

Speaking to GQ magazine, the Thor star acknowledged his muscular frame but insisted that his acting ability is the most significant factor.

Hemsworth reasoned: "'It's helped me get a job, sure. But you hope it's not the only thing that helped.''

The Home and Away icon also dismissed any suggestion of vanity, discussing the egotism of a mystery fellow male actor.

''I worked with a guy once who would chant, 'I'm beautiful and I have a secret, I'm beautiful and I have a secret'," the 28-year-old recalled.

Hemsworth, who plays the part of the Huntsman in current release Snow White and the Huntsman, revealed that he made himself dizzy before drunk scenes.

''It really shakes everything up, and you feel a bit more alive," he added. "I actually started spinning in circles before the scenes where I didn't need to be drunk.''
