As self-proclaimed 'bonus mom' to Eddie Cibrian's two sons from his marriage to Brandi Glanville, LeAnn Rimes is forever asserting that she takes her duties seriously.
But while her parenting skills are not in question, the 29-year-old's idea of good taste certainly is.
This weekend, for Eddie's 39th birthday, she presented her husband with a 'fun cake' which featured frosting replicas of the couple in bed together.
Dubiously bawdy in itself, the red velvet confection wouldn't have been quite so awful if it hadn't featured likenesses of her two step-sons, Mason, nine, and five-year-old Jake, seemingly standing at the foot of their bed.
LeAnn proudly tweeted a picture of the cake and wrote: 'Eddie's favorite things birthday cake!'
Perhaps this is the case, but it never needed to be rendered in icing sugar then shared with the world... Mason's figure even appears to be giggling.
Understandably, LeAnn received some criticism on Twitter after revealing the cake but urged those questioning the decency of the cake to 'ALL please find a sense of humor.'
She replied to one fan who asked if all the guests at Eddie's party had seen the cake, including his children: 'All the guests, not the kids but um the kids do know we share a bed.'

Eddie turned 39 on Saturday, and LeAnn (as is her wont) effusively tweeted details of his birthday 'pampering.'
The pair started the day with breakfast in bed, which featured another, more tasteful cake... which presumably the children could enjoy too.
Then LeAnn tweeted: 'Had to send Eddie off to work this morning, but only for a few hrs. Celebration happening tonight, beach side. Happy 39 Eddie!'
She later detailed treats she'd ordered for the beach celebrations, which included mac and cheese balls, sliders and hot dogs before tweeting a picture of the boys' chalk street drawing for Eddie.

Yesterday, her tweets moved on to the subject of Father's Day, and one seemed to suggest a setback in her attempts to become friends with her step-sons mother.
She retweeted none too subtly: 'Happy Father's Day also to the stepdads who stepped up to the role when the real ones didn't. This is every bit your day too.'
And wrote herself: 'God, today please bring peace to those who feel the need to put other's down....my prayer for the day
Earlier she had written: 'Happy DADDY'S day @eddiecibrian You are an amazing father who sacrifices a lot for two beautiful boys.'

And for good measure tweeted a snap of the couple featuring the caption: 'Just two happy people, enjoying life.'
She has been trying to mend her relationship with her husband's ex-wife in recent days.
She shared a link on her Twitter page to a step-parenting help site called The Evil Stepmother Speaks.
LeAnn and husband Eddie Cibrian ripped apart the lives of their spouses when they dumped them in 2009 after indulging in a passionate affair.
The country star shared a link to the website, and posted a tweet saying: 'That sounds amazing.'
She said: 'It's not negative though it's positive. It's about moving through things and self care.'
And her new approach seemed to be bearing fruit, as she finally received a response to a playful message she sent to Brandi on Wednesday.
The Blue singer shared a photo of her stepson dressed in an Hawaiian outfit in a message she sent to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality.

She said: 'Had to share his luau fabulousness!!!! Mom and he are gonna rock out today. @brandiglanville have Fun!'
And the 39-year-old model claimed the reason she had not responded was because she was so busy when she finally wrote back.
She tweeted: '@leannerimes just seeing the luau tweet, been crazed, thanks we had a blast.'
It is doubtful whether she was overly thrilled with LeAnn's profile picture though, as it showed her sprawled over her Sunset Beach star ex-husband.

It's kind of a massive pet peeve of mine, but I didn't mean to imply you were classis!.
We can agree to shake our heads over poor LeAnn and her life choices?
or wait, they are? idk whatever i think you understand what i mean. not every poor white person is white trash, there's a behavior set that goes with it.

See that's exactly the problem I have with it. I feel like those terms fail to allow for any perceived distinction. You see it in the media all the time.
Also, what happens when someone from a more privileged background displays similar behaviours? The term would not be applied, and if it were it would be preceded by a 'behaved in a manner similar to...' (tbf I'm particularly talking about the word 'chav' - I don't think it's exactly equivalent with 'white trash')

I see your point though.
