Maybe it's not just Lindsay after all ...

2 more 'Liz & Dick' crew members hospitalized for "exhaustion"



Looks like Lindsay Lohan isn't the only one suffering from exhaustion on the set of Liz & Dick. As reported on Friday, Lindsay suffered a bout of exhaustion after working a series of long days on the film in Marina Del Ray, CA. According to Deadline, two production members from the hair department have now also gone to the hospital for "severe dehydration and exhaustion" yesterday. It is alleged that the entire crew has been working 20+ hours a day.

For those unfamiliar with the ongoing saga, Lohan is starring as Elizabeth Taylor in a film for Lifetime chronicling her relationship with Richard Burton (played by Grant Bowler).

Many say Lohan's comeback rides on her success in this film, and she took to Twitter to clarify her own exhaustion story Friday, tweeting "Note to self… After working 85hours in 4days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door." And yes, apparently that is exactly what will happen!

The question remains: why are people dropping like flies on this set? Seems like the pressure isn't only on Lohan for this film to be a success.

made for tv films have a much smaller budget and shorter schedule than other movies yet they still need to film the same amount of scenes. they need to work quickly and efficiently which leads to a lot of hours. so yeah, filming a lifetime movie would be demanding

is this not a SAG friendly production? because the guilds are really strict on the hours worked. hell some of the craft guilds (lighting, etc) have even stricter work hours than actors, I've been told.

I'd have thought so. that's another reason why I'm really skeptical that the exhaustion stories are true. the film unions are nothing to fuck with and they won't hesitate to fine you big money for not being inside of guidelines.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I don't know a whole lot about entertainment unions and guilds, but most unions are pretty strict about how long shifts can be, breaks, lunches, etc... Workers pay dues for unions to look out for them, and they will be the first to run to the union when an employer is pulling shady shit. I imagine that after one 20+ hour day, the crew would be making phone calls to their union rep. I highly doubt that anyone on the crew feel so strongly about making a Lifetime movie that they would disregard labor rules and laws.
