Jada Pinkett Smith Thinks Will Smith Is 'The Best Father in the World'

Jada Pinkett Smith thinks her husband Will Smith is the "the best father in the world."

The actress, speaking with ESSENCE.com while doing press for Madagascar 3, says Will continually inspires her by going above and beyond when it comes to being a dad. "There are some men who feel like, 'Listen, I take care of the house and the home. That's all I need to do,'" she says.

"What makes Will the best father in the world to me is that he's there, not just there in a way that's traditional. The emotional support he offers his children is immeasurable."

Raised by her single mom, Adrienne Banfield, Smith says she feels especially blessed to watch Will's relationship with their daughter Willow, 11. "It's a very interesting relationship to watch and to see how her confidence is really steeped in the idea that she's got this beautiful, strong man as her father.

"In [Willow's] eyes, it's like the world is at my fingertips because I've got daddy," she adds. "For a little girl to be in partnership with her father in that way brings tears to my eyes every time because I feel like every little girl in the world deserves that."

As they get closer to their 15th anniversary this October, Smith couldn't be happier with the man she's chosen as her life partner. "You can find a man that loves you, but if you can find a man that loves you and is a great father, you couldn't hit a bigger jackpot than that," she says.

He does seem like a really good dad, which is great. Good fathers are so few and far between these days.
liddlebins 17th-Jun-2012 09:39 pm (UTC)
i agree

a good parent is a wonderful thing ever. it is a real display of selflessness that isn't a display at all... it is real. it's beautiful. :)

That's sweet, he seems like a good dad.

Semi-related - I'm so f'ing bored today. All my friends are spending time with their dads so I have nothing to do, I'm just sitting here watching bbc wildlife specials and my mom just decided to go to bed at 5 in the afternoon.

I'm bored as shit but I'm also kinda glad to not be doing anything. I work every day and on the weekends (Fri-Sun) I'm up at 5am to get ready for my shifts coaching swimming. I'm tired as shit lately so I'm glad to have nothing planned today.

I'm gonna watch the basketball game and drink seltzer water. I'm looking forward to it!

Idk why, but I really like that she differentiated between a guy that loves you and a guy that loves you and can be a good father.

I feel like a lot of people just assume that because someone treats you well, they will treat your children well.

IA. I work for a catering company that does a lot of weddings, and sometimes I'm just like, "You want THAT to be the father of your children?" I can understand why she might love the guy, but damn, he's just not the person who should ever be in charge of another person's upbringing.
ch33rylips 17th-Jun-2012 09:04 pm (UTC)
Bitch didn't you almost get divorce cause you thought he was pushing your kids into the industry.
buffy_usa 17th-Jun-2012 09:06 pm (UTC)
i thought it was (in no particular order or truth or priority)

cause she was creeping with skeletor
the opposite, she was trying to push her, since it's jada who does the "rock band" thing whereas will mostly gave up music for movies eons ago
not true but great gossip fodder

XD
