A groundbreaking investigative documentary about one of America's most shameful and best kept secrets: the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military. The film paints a startling picture of the extent of the problem--today, a female soldier in combat zones is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire. The Department of Defense estimates there were a staggering 19,000 violent sex crimes in the military in 2010. Twenty percent of all active-duty female soldiers are sexually assaulted. The Invisible War exposes the epidemic, breaking open one of the most under-reported stories of our generation, to the nation and the world.

ladies and gents of ontd, i would like to say to every single one of you...if this has happened to you (military or not) please say something whether the degree of abusive you have endured. it doesn't matter if it happened 2 days, 2 weeks or 6 years ago, you shouldn't suffer in silence. <3
about the view interview, is it just me or is saying "claims" highly offensive to not only the brave women who stood up there, but the victims and survivors everywhere? idk maybe i'm being sensitive because it hits close to home.

reminds me of that SVU episode
sorry for the caps.
And in regards to their hot topics today, I'm so tired of Whoopi having to remind us that she loves weed every day. We get it, you looooooove to smoke.
Fucking dogs.
No money for education
Needing benefits for her/her family
The same reason men join the military.
"EVERYONE'S TRYING TO PAINT WOMEN AS VICTIMS, BAAAWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!"
For some reason, the caption "claims she was raped" is pissing me off.
the introduction to the segment had it too :/
I guess since this is all in the context of the military covering up mass sexual assaults, a matter that hasn't been formally determined (for the record: I don't doubt her for a minute), they're being cautious because if they confirm that she was raped, as in it's legally certain, then they're implying that it is legally certain that the military did nothing.
