Lindsay Lohan had alcohol in a water bottle



Lindsay Lohan was driving with an open container of alcohol when she crashed into a truck Friday on the Pacific Coast Highway ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Both law enforcement sources and the tow truck driver tell us ... cops confiscated a plastic water bottle from the trunk of the Porsche, and our law enforcement sources tell us the bottle contained alcohol.  Another law enforcement source tells us the bottle was actually in the debris field and scooped up along with other parts and placed in the trunk before it was towed away.

It's not a violation to carry an open container in a trunk, so Lindsay is in the clear. And according to cops she had no alcohol in her system.

Nevertheless, Lindsay has been to rehab several times, so it's not the swiftest move to roll with booze.

It's not a violation to carry an open container in a trunk, so Lindsay is in the clear. And according to cops she had no alcohol in her system.

but it was in the trunk, so it wasn't an actual violation according to the article.

correcto, it's not a violation if it's in the trunk aka somewhere that it can't be accessed.

The article makes it sound like an open container in the trunk of a car isn't illegal.

It wasn't actually originally in the trunk. It was in the debris from the wreck (which was to the front of the vehicle) and scooped up by cops and placed in the back. So basically she got lucky.

Still on probation. And the fact that it is in a water bottle, meaning she is trying to hide it or sneak it somewhere, will not look good for her.

Because she's driven under the influence before and had problems with alcohol and drugs before and has done multiple "I'm sober now" tours so the fact that she's riding around with alcohol in a hidden container (not that she was trying to hide it in her trunk, but the fact that she poured the alcohol into a container to make it look like water = 'hidden') is kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiindasketchy, dontchathink?
