Twentieth Century Fox TV Unveils Its 2012 Comic-Con Lineup

Earlier this week, Warner Brothers TV revealed its lineup for the San Diego Comic-Con International, which included five new live action dramas and several returning series. Now, Twentieth Century Fox TV has followed suit and made a few surprising programming decisions as well.

Fox almost always brings its animated series to play in San Diego and 2012 is no exception. "The Simpsons," "Futurama," "Family Guy," "American Dad," "The Cleveland Show" and "Bob's Burgers" are all back this year alongside Daniel Tosh's new Comedy Central animated series, "Brickleberry."

However, Fox is only bringing a single show from FX, with "Sons of Anarchy" returning to Sunday in Hall H. This means that popular genre series like "American Horror Story" and "Archer" will not have panels this year. "Glee" is also sitting out this convention despite a strong reception during previous panels in year's past. Aside from "Sons of Anarchy," only "Bones" will represent Fox in live action. And for this year's panel, both Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz are slatted to appear.

FRIDAY, JULY 13

Bones (Fox): EPs Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan join stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel to talk about the seventh season finale and the new season to come.

Bob's Burgers (Fox): H. Jon Benjamin , John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal lead this year's Q&A session.

Brickleberry (Comedy Central): Daniel Tosh and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Kaitlin Olson are expected to attend the panel for their new animated series, coming to Comedy Central in September.

SATURDAY, JULY 14

Futurama (Comedy Central): Our returning champions include voice actors Billy West (Fry, Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth, Zapp Brannigan), Katey Sagal (Leela) , John DiMaggio (Bender) and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, Calculon, Morbo) along with "Futurama" executive producers. Additionally, prizes will be given to fans attending the panel in "Futurama" costumes.

The Simpsons (Fox): This year's "Simpsons" panel is said to offer a "substantial tease of the upcoming installment of the 'Treehouse of Horror.'"

Family Guy (Fox): Seth MacFarlane returns to preview the new season of his long running series.

American Dad (Fox): And then MacFarlane comes back later in the day to push the new season of "American Dad" alongside Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, Rachael MacFarlane, Dee Bradley Baker, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman.

SUNDAY, JULY 15

The Cleveland Show (Fox): Going for the hat trick, MacFarlane will lead his third panel of the con and screen the fourth season premiere of "The Cleveland Show."

Sons of Anarchy (FX): Despite an extremely short panel last year, "Sons of Anarchy" creator is bringing along Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal , Ron Perlman, Maggie Siff, Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Theo Rossi, Ryan Hurst and Dayton Callie to talk about the upcoming fifth season.

I feel like this is so late to be announcing this. Isn't Comic-Con in July and don't you have to buy tickets in like December now?

They don't plan the schedule until usually a month before the convention but you HAVE to get tickets before knowing the schedule if you want to go.

i just started watching bob's burgers, holy shit it is hilarious how did i ignore it before?
latexandleather 11th-Jun-2012 04:02 pm (UTC)
it's really under the radar. the premise isn't that interesting & the jokes are in such a way that they're hilarious but you have to be.. watching? idk, it's not one of those isolated clip type shows, the self referencing and the ~feel are the best bits - which makes it hard to advertise unfortunately.

sorta like arrested development.
_underwhelmed 11th-Jun-2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
also wow OP, very well formatted post, good work!
llamasandme 11th-Jun-2012 03:29 pm (UTC)
what are essential bob's burgers episodes that i need to watch?
i want to watch it but I want to get to the good stuff.
latexandleather 11th-Jun-2012 03:57 pm (UTC)
It's all good, seriously. I was hooked from episode one. If you don't get pulled in from the beginning you might be interested in starting from season 2 which is more Louise & Tina-centric, they're more.. fan favs? Idk I love the son, Gene, and season 1 is definitely his & the parents
