I'm also a member of the ontd-tsc community but I've stayed away because it's been overrun by stans who seem to take the show more seriously than people at the beginning did, which is silly because lbr, even when the show picked up it was still ridiculous. I think there was one stan there saying that people didn't watch because the show depicted ~strong women. LMAO. There might be something to be said for how TSC wasn't as dominated by testosterone the way the Salvatores dominate TVD, but good lord, are you kidding me? Cassie spent most of her time mooning after Adam, Diana spent her time mooning after Adam and then Random Australian Guy Whose Name I Can't Remember, Melissa spent her time mooning after Nick, and Faye spent her time mooning after Jake. Strong female characters should not have their storylines so dictated by their romantic entanglements. You want strong women? You look at a show like Nikita or Pretty Little Liars.
Preach it. I stopped trying to comment when a stan went on and on about the Gale Harold fans only watching for him. Gurrrrrrl I can watch a show for whatever damn reason I want and it's not "wrong."

But Nikita needs all the viewers it can get, so I couldn't give two fucks about why someone's watching.... as long as they don't say stupid shit (I think one Stanford stan was saying how it would make more sense for Alex should die instead of Birkhoff, which is some bs right there).

The crappy writing and acting (in many places, not all the time) meant I took enjoyment in the show where I could.
honestly, even when the show picked up near the end, the crystals by themselves almost turned me completely off. they were THE dumbest macguffin ever.
At least we got a final scene with Adam going all 'my preciousssssss' over the skull.
