LOL yes this. I had so many problems with that part. First of all, the medipod wasn't calibrated for women (Why? IDK. Makes no sense since it was in Vickers room.) and yet it pulled a fetus out of her uterus so perfectly, and then it just looked like it stapled the outside skin and looked perfectly healed. Girlfriend would have so much internal bleeding she'd be dead.
fancycarousel 10th-Jun-2012 07:12 pm (UTC)
+ the ship was worth trillions of dollars, no medpod for females?, why flamethrowers and axes? lolwut.
just_smiling 10th-Jun-2012 07:15 pm (UTC)
I think the medipod was meant for **Weyland and Weyland only... Vickers just had no idea.

sandvich 10th-Jun-2012 07:18 pm (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that the medpod was actually meant for Weyland, not Vickers.
forbidden_john 10th-Jun-2012 07:20 pm (UTC)
Tbf this is a world in which the technology is massively more advanced than our own. It's feasible to say there would be less damage than conventionally happens during surgery.
finchburg 10th-Jun-2012 07:43 pm (UTC)
Yeah so did a manual override/tricked it it into scanning her abdomen and removing the foreign antibody. Vickers knew who it was for all along. It had to be in Vickers' room because her wing of the ship was totally self contained/self sustaining.
ekrelly 10th-Jun-2012 07:17 pm (UTC)
omg that part was so fucking stupid
molkat 10th-Jun-2012 07:23 pm (UTC)
She has a weird alien in her so they try to put her in stasis, so she fights her way free, gets it cut out, and no one seems to mind this or ask any questions. It's like they complete forgot they were going to put her in stasis and that if the alien isn't in her, then where the fuck is it.
queen_haq 10th-Jun-2012 07:38 pm (UTC)
Not to mention Mr. Sexy Elba's speech about the entire motive behind that tomb - even though there was nothing leading up to that discovery.
tellthylove 10th-Jun-2012 07:40 pm (UTC)
agreed
ebertrules 10th-Jun-2012 08:06 pm (UTC)
lol there was so much stupidity in that movie omg.
carrie9142 10th-Jun-2012 08:27 pm (UTC)
Man, I can't wait for the drugs of the future!
gjee 11th-Jun-2012 03:06 am (UTC)
same. and then she runs off with the thing that killed her lover? they hinted that she figured it out that he did it but then didn't do anything about it
winonaforever 10th-Jun-2012 06:46 pm (UTC)
Prometheus was a waste of time.
cricketgrl 10th-Jun-2012 07:03 pm (UTC)
It was so good, I loved it. I hope there is a follow up sequel. :)
tellthylove 10th-Jun-2012 07:42 pm (UTC)
well the movie is a prequel so idk about that

i'm DYING to see safety not guaranteed, i have to wait until next weekend tho. moonrise kingdom is amazing, btw!
robertsbox_xo 10th-Jun-2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
i want to see both of those sooo bad.
luna_potterhead 10th-Jun-2012 07:06 pm (UTC)
Which Anderson was it most like?? I'm so excited to see it.
wits 10th-Jun-2012 07:12 pm (UTC)
it kind of had elements of all of them? it reminded me of rushmore a lot, but that may have just been the precocious kid aspect. it's really, really wonderful, and if you're a fan of films you'll definitely enjoy it.
woollymammoth 10th-Jun-2012 07:08 pm (UTC)
Co-signed.
_marquis 10th-Jun-2012 06:47 pm (UTC)
i saw snow white and the huntsman. it was meh
cickiz 10th-Jun-2012 06:47 pm (UTC)
Saw Snow White.

didn't understand a damn thing any of the dwarves or the huntsman said and wish I couldn't understand Kristen Stewart. awfulness all around minus the amazing Charlize Theron. She and KS should've switched roles, tbh.
jessepinkman 10th-Jun-2012 06:51 pm (UTC)
Such a snooze festival. Pretty tho
coquettes 10th-Jun-2012 07:03 pm (UTC)
I agree with your last part. I always wanted to see Kristen in a villian role, because lbr SW gave her absolutely nothing to do.
false_hate 10th-Jun-2012 08:13 pm (UTC)
I pray Universal doesn't go forward with a sequel. I don't understand how the film script was supposedly better than the original draft. Yikes.
cickiz 10th-Jun-2012 08:33 pm (UTC)
I have no idea what part II could even be about. isn't the fairy tale over now?
scornedsaint 10th-Jun-2012 06:47 pm (UTC)
My mom and I marathoned the Daily Show's 2004 election coverage on DVD, which was weird but fun.

Also, I am "looking forward" to yelling at my dentist and insurance provider tomorrow during my lunch break because either my dentist is filing the claims wrong or the provider refuses to pay, and I am OVER IT.
yousaidlog 10th-Jun-2012 06:50 pm (UTC)
I miss TDS from that era omg. early to mid-2000s was so great.
little_kitkat 10th-Jun-2012 06:57 pm (UTC)
Omg, that happened at my doctors office a few years ago and it was SUCH a pain in the ass.
scornedsaint 10th-Jun-2012 07:01 pm (UTC)
I swear, insurance companies were made by the devil. This has seriously happened to me every single time I've gotten something done in the past 6 months. Thank god I got my wisdom teeth out and can finally drop COBRA; that's the only reason I was using it in the first place

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Do not do COBRA with MetLife, because they seriously do not give a shit about providing users with any sort of services at all.
invisiblemonkey 10th-Jun-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
Oh man, I started watching TDS in 2004. I was suddenly so knowledgeable about US politics, lol.
joliebelle 10th-Jun-2012 09:46 pm (UTC)
Heh. I had a dentist back home that tried to double bill me. Nice try, fuckers
drfaith101 10th-Jun-2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
Saw MIB3...I quite enjoyed it tbh!
d00ditsemily 10th-Jun-2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
Saw the Lorax finally and I finally got into GoT and I'm on Ep. 5 now of Season 2.
arwens 10th-Jun-2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
I saw prometheus, I liked it. When she was removing that thing from her, all I could thing abut was "omg renesmee is being born." Fassbender and noomi were great.

I've been cleaning my room for the past 3 hrs. I have so much shit idk where it all came from.
yousaidlog 10th-Jun-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
OT, but could someone help me with a cut text? I highlighted the text I wanted under the cut, then pressed "Livejournal Cut" and changed the "read more" text. The scissors thing is around the text I wanted under the cut. Did I do it correctly? It's hard to tell in the preview.
chuckisfuckis 10th-Jun-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
Sounds right to me.
yousaidlog 10th-Jun-2012 06:55 pm (UTC)
thank you, bb.
twowaymirrrors 10th-Jun-2012 06:54 pm (UTC)
That sounds right to me.
emizee 10th-Jun-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
saw mib3 it was good
jazzypom Yeah it was better than I thought10th-Jun-2012 07:16 pm (UTC)
Just a really good movie all around.
thewunderland 10th-Jun-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
Everyone should see Moonrise Kingdom, it was the cutest film I've seen in years.
pandoras_boxset 10th-Jun-2012 06:51 pm (UTC)
i want to see it so badly, but i live in a hole-in-the-wall city where it'll probably never play.
trixielollipop 10th-Jun-2012 07:01 pm (UTC)
I doubt it'll make it here and I'm so disappointed. :-(
ghost_busting 10th-Jun-2012 07:03 pm (UTC)
Yes! So, so cute.
jessepinkman 10th-Jun-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
Liked Prometheus but wish they would have developed lmg's reason for having a drinking problem..also, The fact that child Shaw had a British accent and older shaw did not.
darkwarrior 10th-Jun-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
He was drinking because he'd come around the universe to find God and found out they were all dead.

And the out of film backstory is that she didn't grow up just in Britain.
aprilfunk 10th-Jun-2012 06:54 pm (UTC)
So his character had a drinking problem? I thought it was so random that this guy was drinking out of the blue and being such an asshole... I just didn't understand
crazyfruitlady 10th-Jun-2012 08:00 pm (UTC)
He's travelled across the universe to meet his maker only to find that they're all dead and/or arseholes. I thought it made perfect sense that he was cranky and drinking.
showmesara 10th-Jun-2012 07:17 pm (UTC)
fuck yeah with the accent. it bothered me so much. And after watching the movie I saw that on IMDB's trivia it said she had a dialect coach, I got all WTFFFFFFFF
crazyfruitlady 10th-Jun-2012 08:01 pm (UTC)
LOL, Noomi was supposed to have an accent. It just didn't always work. Sometimes it sounded great and them sometimes she sounded totally Swedish.
ch33rylips 10th-Jun-2012 06:50 pm (UTC)
I watched 10 mins of Afro Circus yesterday what is my life...
robertsbox_xo 10th-Jun-2012 06:50 pm (UTC)
i made sangria and got drunk off of my face with a friend and watched 21 jump street. then we made a ridiculously big pan of nachos at 1am and ate the whole fucking thing. i regret nothing.
degele 10th-Jun-2012 06:55 pm (UTC)
omg your night sounds fabulous. 21 jump street is so hilarious.
