ashley greene joins CBGB.

Ashley Greene has landed the female lead in indie punk scene drama “CBGB”, named for the famed New York rock club it revolves around, reports Variety. Greene will play Lisa Kristal, eventual business manager of the club and daughter to the club’s owner Hilly Kristal, who will be played by Alan Rickman.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In the script, Kristal is depicted as a fiery young woman who often clashed with her father, but ultimately ends up going to law school in order to help him keep the club. CBGB eventually closed down in 2008, and Kristal, who now controls the estate, is an executive producer on the film. The cast is rounded out by Malin Akerman playing Blondie singer Debbie Harry, Rupert Grint, Johnny Galecki, Stana Katic, Joel David Moore, Peter Vack, Kerry Bische, Taylor Hawkins, Mickey Sumner, Steven Schub and Evan Alex Cole. Randall Miller will direct later this month in Savannah, GA, from a script he wrote with Jody Savin.

Greene is most known for her role as Alice Cullen in “Twilight”, the finale of which, “Breaking Dawn Part II”, wraps up the vampire saga this November. She also has the female lead in horror pic “The Apparition” opposite Sebestian Stan out this September, as well as quirky indie comedy “Butter” opposite Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde.

Scarlett Johannson because you might as well go for perfection if I get the choice, lol.

I would get Diane Lane to play an older version of me, even though she looks nothing like me (or ScarJo).

I seriously can't think of any tomboyish black celebs in the 19 to 26 age range, who are of average height/weight, a bit on the pale side, and rock their hair natural.

....not that I've been meticulously planning this out and searching Imdb or anything creepy like that.

Amy Poehler

Not just because she's a tiny blonde, and not just because she's a flawless goddess, but because I have her as my desktop background and one time my dad saw it and was like "why do you have a picture of yourself as your background?" It was the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my appearance. /csb

Malin Akerman is playing Debbie Harry? Disaster.
craww 8th-Jun-2012 09:16 am (UTC)
It's funny, because when I saw the Ashley Greene photo uptop the first thought I had was "is anyone as useless as her? oh, wait - Malin Akerman".
derrobitch 8th-Jun-2012 09:41 am (UTC)
i dont understand why she gets ANY role. she must suck a lot of big shot dicks
chrislola 8th-Jun-2012 10:14 am (UTC)
Someone out there is trying really hard to make her happen and it's not happening. I don't like her, but kudos to her for trying. Doesn't mean I want to actually see her in anything though. lol.
leopard_legs 8th-Jun-2012 10:38 am (UTC)
I remember going to see "The Proposal" and we spent the entire movie going WHO IS THIS MOST BASIC OF BITCHES whenever she came on screen
she has a weird face and no presence
hollywood needs to cease and desist
kapuki234 8th-Jun-2012 01:51 pm (UTC)

I wasn't even really paying attention to this until I saw Alan Rickman. I don't appreciate being lured into this by him.
kaiserschmarrn 8th-Jun-2012 08:36 am (UTC)
What a random cast. Ashley Greene will play the daughter of Alan Rickman? Eh.

Alan Rickman plays Ashley Geene's father? hahaha
zibbydoo324 8th-Jun-2012 08:38 am (UTC)
I always wonder if she will make it or not. She has the drive and she's getting some indie cred, but I feel like the dark horse from Twilight will be Anna Kendrick.
thetxbelle 8th-Jun-2012 08:39 am (UTC)
Is Anna Hendrick a dark horse though? Didn't see get an Oscar nominee? I could be really wrong but I thought so.

Plus Ashley green was in a flop Miley Cyrus film called "LOL" right? That doesn't sound like shit you ever fully recover from personally or professionally.

Edited at 2012-06-08 08:41 am (UTC)
zibbydoo324 8th-Jun-2012 08:43 am (UTC)
That's kind of what I meant by "dark horse."
Or maybe I used the term incorrectly.
I meant how she was the only one leaving that damn franchise with respect and a career.
chrislola 8th-Jun-2012 08:41 am (UTC)
Aside from the people who already had solid careers before Twilight, I think Anna is the only one making it out of that one alive. Everyone else won't be able to shake it off.
courtkneee1 8th-Jun-2012 08:44 am (UTC)
it's so interesting how anna has completely shed twilight from her image

she deserves it though!
editnoir 8th-Jun-2012 09:42 am (UTC)
I forgot Anna Kendrick was even in Twilight, though, so her forgetful tiny role might have something to do with it.
leopard_legs 8th-Jun-2012 10:41 am (UTC)
She's not a very good actress, but her being white and semi-attractive means all of Hollywood is trying to make her happen

I think she'll do ok as a model/fashion week seat filler
kachna_junior 8th-Jun-2012 11:33 am (UTC)
she is lucky her part is so small in Twilight, but yep, I agree
liliana_ 8th-Jun-2012 12:01 pm (UTC)
I feel like Kendrick is so overrated. I'm sure she'll continue to do fine, but I don't really see her ever breaking through as a leading actress. She'll keep showing up as the "quirky" love interest/friend.
drkshdw 8th-Jun-2012 08:42 am (UTC)
annnnnnd i've lost all interest in this project.

she is literally the worst.
lifeisnutty 8th-Jun-2012 08:46 am (UTC)
literally? I think you can surely find someone else LITERALLY worse.

what a mishmash casting.
cerseilannister 8th-Jun-2012 09:16 am (UTC)
This casting seems strange. I guess the movie will either be good or meh.
lovexemity 8th-Jun-2012 09:20 am (UTC)
Already, Hollywood? All I can remember about CBGB's is that they charged an exorbitant amount of money for a cup of Sprite(I liked Sprite in HS, don't judge me!). This movie can't not suck.
polaroidmoment 8th-Jun-2012 09:41 am (UTC)
lol bars that charge for pop are so weird. I guess it makes sense if it's an underage event but c'mon, you know they're raking in the dough on beer.
lovexemity 8th-Jun-2012 11:46 am (UTC)
Now that I look back on it I can see why. That east village rent was no joke. Their five dollar cups of soda couldn't save them, I guess.
leopard_legs 8th-Jun-2012 10:43 am (UTC)
I won't judge you for liking sprite, I'll never judge you for liking it.
Sprite is fucking delicious.
This comment is overly passionate.
teawithnoddy 8th-Jun-2012 10:46 am (UTC)
Is liking Sprite suddenly not acceptable? If there was a memo about this I missed it.
chantonii 8th-Jun-2012 11:28 am (UTC)
Sprite is alright. Orange Fanta on the other hand...
paupiedequincey 8th-Jun-2012 04:29 pm (UTC)
