An Emmys post: THR's Supporting Players Photo shoot

Emmys 2012: TV's Supporting Players Storm THR's Photo Shoot

The Unsung Superstars

On May 30, THR gathered 25 top contenders for supporting actor and actress Emmys, all at once, at Siren Orange Studios in L.A.

Bruce Campbell, "Burn Notice"

Bruce Campbell, who became a cult figure after starring in the Evil Dead films, plays Sam Axe on the USA Network show.

Ron Perlman, "Sons of Anarchy"

The imposing actor who previously appeared as Beast on Beauty & the Beast and inhabited the title role of Hellboy plays Clarence “Clay” Morrow on the FX Network series.

Hannah Simone, "New Girl"

Simone plays Cecilia “Cece” Meyers, a former model whose best friend is the “new girl” of the show’s title, Jess (Zooey Deschanel).

Mayim Bialik, "Big Bang Theory"

After rising to fame as the title character on the sictcom Blossom, Bialik returns to the small screen playing Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, described as Sheldon’s “friend that’s a girl, but not a girlfriend.”

Brent Sexton, "The Killing"

Brent Sexton, who previously appeared on Justified and Life, has thus far been in 23 episodes of AMC’s critical darling.

Kit Harington, "Game of Thrones"

English film, television and theatre actor Kit Harington currently plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.

Walton Goggins, "Justified"

After stealing scenes as a supporting actor in films like The Apostle and Major League: Back to the Minors, Goggins landed the recurring role of Boyd Crowder.

Kathleen Robertson, "Boss"

On Boss, Kathleen Robertson plays Kitty O’Neil, personal aide to Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer), a Chicago mayor suffering from a degenerative neurological disease.

Michael Cudlitz, "Southland"

After taking on small roles in sitcoms during his teenage years, Cudlitz landed a major role on Southland as John Cooper.

Erika Christensen, "Parenthood"

Loosely based on the 1989 Ron Howard movie of the same name, Parenthood co-stars Christensen as Julia Braverman-Graham, a lawyer whose husband supports her by staying at home to care for their five-year-old-son.

Michael Pitt, "Boardwalk Empire"

Pitt, a character actor who started his career on Dawson’s Creek, plays James “Jimmy” Darmody, an ivy league honor student who embarks on a career in organized crime.

Steve Little, "Eastbound & Down"

Before playing Stevie Janowksi on Eastbound & Down, Little was a member of the improvisational and sketch comedy troupe The Groundlings.

There are maybe three people in this shoot who actually have a shot in hell at an Emmy nomination. But nice try, THR. Anyway, who would you like to see nominated? (I think we can all agree on who we would NOT like to see nominated - anything and anyone from Glee)

....kittykat? really? why is he even up for a nomination? I don't watch any of the other shows so I can't make any judgements there
minderbinder 7th-Jun-2012 01:20 am (UTC)
He's not. The Emmy noms aren't announced until July. This is just promo, but it's ridic that of everyone in the cast he's the one getting promo since he's honestly the least likely to get anything. Lol.

soavantgarde 7th-Jun-2012 01:24 am (UTC)
yeah it is, he's so basic at acting I can't even deal with it. and it's not like there's not an abundance of attractive actors on that show who can actually act. I think my resentment for jon is starting to show, oop :X
laurshel 7th-Jun-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
Alfie Allen should be nominated.
wauwy 7th-Jun-2012 03:13 am (UTC)
He's the face of the books, but of the show? That was Ned and now it's Tyrion. idgi.
welurklate 7th-Jun-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
I see Damon Waynes Jr and my sweet chinless prince Lip on there yes plz
padlock 7th-Jun-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
as much as i love kit, brent sexton on the killing is amazing
ljubavirakija 7th-Jun-2012 01:22 am (UTC)
IA.

If anyone from The Killing is nominated, then it should be him. This season has been his time to shine
getbacknow 7th-Jun-2012 02:21 am (UTC)
joel kinnaman should get a nom too imo
simplychristina 7th-Jun-2012 01:36 am (UTC)
I haven't seen season 2 yet but I'm guessing from this that it holds up. I should go find those episodes.
georgiana08 7th-Jun-2012 02:21 am (UTC)
He seriously is. He's been astounding the past few episodes in particular.
oohasparklie 7th-Jun-2012 03:10 am (UTC)
He's my #1 for the last year.
justmyowl 7th-Jun-2012 03:38 am (UTC)
his scenes are so haunting, my god, watching that man grieve is heartbreaking.
lilo146 7th-Jun-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
cece from new girl is so pretty, but if someone from that show deserves a nomination is schmith
ciccones 7th-Jun-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
Ron Perlman <333333
tankmachine 7th-Jun-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
Max Greenfield and the entire Happy Endings cast for Best Supporting imo

and Nick fucking Offerman too
bibbysbaby 7th-Jun-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
I'm pulling for Damon and Eliza with some support for Elisha as well. but if I could only pick one it would be Eliza, hands down!
ljubavirakija 7th-Jun-2012 01:20 am (UTC)
Jon Bernthal should, at least, receive a nomination. Shane was a POS, but he was a mesmerizing POS
clothingaddict 7th-Jun-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
wait I'm confused, Bernthal didn't get a nom? OHHHH or was the picture just the "contenders" for an Emmy. Weren't the noms announced tho?
babysinclair 7th-Jun-2012 03:13 am (UTC)
that was the critic choice
lathwen1 7th-Jun-2012 02:36 am (UTC)
hmm Tbh he was ok, I don't think TWD has great acting. He was ok, I liked his character, unlike other people who wanted him out of the show quickly, I liked it bc he was the character that brought tension to the slow story. But that's just it.
oohasparklie 7th-Jun-2012 03:10 am (UTC)
Agreed x 39847198357195839178359187591875. He was phenomenal as Shane. But I think he'll get overlooked because so many people hated his character.
michelleantonia 7th-Jun-2012 06:12 am (UTC)
He did a great job, but I think there are way too many other nominateable supporting actor roles out there this season
sarcasticcheese 7th-Jun-2012 01:20 am (UTC)
John Noble is not in this group? This list is invalid.
minderbinder 7th-Jun-2012 01:21 am (UTC)
Katharine McPhee and Kit Harington already made it invalid.
sheinhardt 7th-Jun-2012 01:23 am (UTC)
MTE. Needs more Anna Torv too.

Yeah, over glee winning and i'm over modern family winning too, even though i love that show.

I'd like to see Revenge win something though i doubt it. Maybe the woman who plays Victoria for supporting actress?
cluelessraf 7th-Jun-2012 01:23 am (UTC)
Is she good? I hear a lot of people liking her character, is she like a villain?
winter_lace 7th-Jun-2012 01:39 am (UTC)
I could take or leave Revenge honestly but Madeline Stowe KILLS it as Victoria.
squishinator 7th-Jun-2012 01:42 am (UTC)
shes kind of a villain but you kind of start to feel for her, too. She's an total ice queen and fabulous.
minderbinder 7th-Jun-2012 01:23 am (UTC)
I hope Modern Family doesn't sweep again this year. That show hasn't had any fresh material in awhile. I'm rooting for some Parks & Rec love.
windsong_moon 7th-Jun-2012 01:42 am (UTC)
Victoria is wonderful.

i can see Naya getting a nomination tbh

Santana was basically the female Kurt in terms of material to work with this season

minderbinder 7th-Jun-2012 01:22 am (UTC)
I would be shocked out of my mind if she got a nom. Critics in general are over Glee, and if anyone is left getting a nom it will be Jane Lynch just because (not because she did anything to deserve it).
tankmachine 7th-Jun-2012 01:24 am (UTC)
i said i could see it happening i didnt say it was likely
thebadunkadunk 7th-Jun-2012 03:47 am (UTC)
Jane Lynch is the new Betty White. I love them but they do not deserve the noms they're getting at this point
tvwizard 7th-Jun-2012 01:23 am (UTC)
If she was gonna get a nom, it would have been last year.

oh and Kristen Wiig for one last nomination for SNL too
