MTV Developing Scream TV Series

Ghostface is taking his reign of terror to the small screen.

MTV is developing a weekly series based on the Scream film franchise, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

Former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley, who are shepherding the project under their DiGa production shingle, are on the hunt for a writer to pen the pilot.

It’s unclear what role, if any, Scream auteurs Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven will have in the potential series.

The four Scream flicks have brought in $500 million globally.

I remember being so excited that this won Best Movie. Back then, the Movie Awards at least somewhat reflected the general popular consensus rather than one strong fanbase.

I AGREE!

i also remember being pissed that clueless lost best movie to seven.

the mtv movie awards were actually fun counter-programming to something like the academy awards.

maybe it was just because i was young then? i wonder if the young kids actually still like the movie awards nowadays? in my opinion, they certainly have gone waaaaaay downhill. sad.

It seems like kids still like them, or otherwise Twilight wouldn't be winning everything! I think that now that the internet is so prevalent, you have these movies with strong fanbases just overpowering everything else, and it's definitely bringing down awards shows like this.
